Just curious. Do you think it's too robotic or monotone? Too fast or slow?

This is my first attempt at recording anything, so I haven't quite learned the software or anything.

The content is just another post I made on here, you can ignore that if you'd like, just looking for critique on the voicing itself.

Monotone? I could fall asleep.

No disrespect, after all my college professors I don't really listen to many people anymore

Yeah my sister said the same thing - Said that slowing down would add emphasis/effect.

Well enunciated and pronounced. Speed depends on where you are in the USA or world for clarity.
Your diction is fine. I hear a slight impediment with the CH and SH sound (something that has been described to me as a lateral lisp), but less so than some radio hosts I know.

I would prefer a bit more inflection, and variance in the delivery. A bit more passion, as an acting professor would have told me.

Your voice is not monotonous, but it does lacks interest.

When you make a mistake you correct yourself without making other sounds. That is something not even professional actors do in habit.

If you have the time take an acting class, or speech class. If you don't have the time you are doing well without them.

Thank you for the detailed response! I wasn't expecting someone to give details like that.

For now it was just a trial, I may want to get into it more but not sure.

Not monotone at all, in my opinion. You sound engaged and interested in presenting your dialog. I listened to the first 45 seconds and the last 20. I noticed you have a lot of vocal fry but that could be good or bad, depending on the situation. Also, in the last 20 seconds, you sound pretty much like the beginning, meaning your vocal stamina is pretty decent (vocal fry seemed to increase at the end but, eh).

So not bad at all, especially if you are planning to narrate informative blurbs or news items as opposed to books or stories.

I actually have no plans for now, that was my first time ever recording myself with no previous practice. I may get into it, though.. I've been told I have a voice that would work for radio or announcements like flight attendant.

I was pretty impressed...

Maybe a bit more passion would help like someone else said but overall it was excellent.

What kind of mic and placement did you use out of curiosity?

Thank you.. Just sitting at my computer desk with turtle beach headset. I use them to game and figured they would work for recording.

Wow, I would have guessed you used a pro mic because the sound quality sounded so good.

I have made recordings with $500 mics that sounded worse.

(former audio tech BTW...)
