Tell me what's bad about Denmark.

They do have very high taxes

Don't need more taxes.

If you like their model, by all means, move there.

How about Denmark? That's the main model of Sanders platform.

Even those who live in Denmark, don't consider their country Socialist. They consider it a Free Market/Capatilist society with some really good social welfare programs.

Also keep in mind that Free Education and Free this and that, don't really mean free, they come from Taxes and better spending from our governemnt.

Denmark has a very high quality of life and most inhabitants there are very happy.

They do have very high taxes, but that is offset by good free education and healthcare, robust retirement and other things.

Tell me what's bad about Denmark.

The reason why Denmark works the way it does because they are completely different then we are in many ways and are raised differently. I've spent time in Denmark and the people there are happier yes, but they also find happiness in other things then money.

Here in the USA, we are raised to worship money and to judge others by the amount of money they make. We are taught that money can buy happiness, a notion that only a young soul can take seriously.

I wish we were more like Denmark; I would gladly pay 80% of my wages to taxes if that means all Americans can have the same quality of life. No one is saying you can't go and chose your career, you absolutely can. The difference is that they aren't taught and trained to think that a doctor should be paid more then a trash collector, unlike here.

Here in the good ol USA we are taught to put an extraordinary amount of value on a sheet of paper that we receive from an institution that has taken away our independent thinking and teaches us how to regurgitate what they want us to. It's embarrassing on so many levels, yet so FEW people in the USA can see that for what it's really worth.

I make very good money and I don't worship money. I have a $22,000 car that gets me where I need to go; I don't need to compare it to others' to make myself feel better about myself and about the $$$ I spent to go to school. My happiness comes from being in the mountains, in nature, around animals and around my tribe of family and friends.

Using Denmark as an example, while I wish we could do accurately, just isn't logical because they aren't like us. They are much better people.

But wait........you moved here willingly. Yet, you come here and now want to change it to a place like where you moved from.

You do know that within nature, there are organisms that do this. They are called parasites and viruses.

And...........you want the US to move from what we were founded upon, towards something that is the opposite of that.

I have to say, I don't think the US was founded upon having policy and laws created by corporations who only care about their quarterly financial statements and not at all for the good of the people.

I do completely understand why so many folks are in denial of this though. Having one's belief structure come down is very scary and the ego will do everything it can to protect.

Right now, according to the CBO, 94 million people use snap. Up from 44 m in 2008. Everyday i see job posting that go unfilled because people dont want to work retail, or entry level jobs...they expect big bucks when they start.

When i started as an electrician, i made $9 an hour to provide for a family of 3. I went to try and get snap. As the only provider for the family, i was making too much money. There were two men there i graduated hs with, in their words...if they started working, they would lose their benefits. And they added, probally get drug tested and they liked coke too much to quit.

You're looking at it wrong though. Think of it this way.

You might pay 100 in taxes 200 in health insurance, 150 in college loan, 50 into your 501k, 300 a month in childcare so you can work.

In Denmark you might pay 200 in taxes but that other 700 goes right back in your pocket. You save 500 per month.

That's how it works. Sounds good to me?

Those numbers would be much higher in reality. My health insurance is easily double that, my childcare can be double that, i put more in my 501k college loans are more than that, and in addition you have other things, like medical co pays etc. I easily paid almost 3k in health care costs in December.

LOl well yes, also they don't like Trumps attitude, and they aren't Christian fundamentalist/evangelicals so they don't like Cruz or Carson. Nobody likes Bush. It's not hard to see why Sanders has support.

You're right. It is never an economic model that leads to prosperity; it is the people. A good test would be to get Danes and Norwegians to move to the US, and see if the economic model necessarily leads them to poverty and squalor. In the same vein, we can probably see if the most poverty-stricken new immigrants in Sweden have broken their poverty by simply entering a country with such a vast welfare state.

I'd be interested to see the results, whether it is indeed the economic model and welfare-policies that lead people to prosperity, or if it the culture and work ethics of those involved.

Here in CO, most people I talk to who support Bernie do so because they are sick of the same old puppets who have their strings pulled by elites and their $$$, as well as big corporations and their $$$. I know, both are the same thing.

I love it when someone tells me I am wrong when I don't want more of my money stolen to give to others.

No, I am looking at it just fine. Tax money doesn't go back in my pocket..........and I am not willingly giving up MY freedoms for Govt to control yet another aspect of life.

I can't help that people like you fear life and envy those that have more. But, I can help my issues.

I have no problem earning what I need to live and provide for my family.

And in what grand fictitious world did I state such things?

But, this country was founded on the freedom of one man to build a business and treat it as such and another man to build a business only to give away whatever he wishes.

No fear here and I earn enough to provide for my family too.

I love it when people think they are so self sufficient that they will never need help. You'll never get sick and no natural disaster will ever strike you. I wish I was so lucky.

The difference between you and i, is that I have a problem with our crocked health care system robbing me blind, and I'm compassionate towards my fellow Americans. We're all in this together. I was in the military, and it wasn't every man for himself there. It was an army of one, meaning one unit, one family one brotherhood. We completed missions together and helped each other out whenever we needed it. I hope one day you have an experience like that.

Nothing stays the same forever. Which I know seriously chaps conservative donkey but its the way life is. And our framers were wise enough to give us the tools to make our government what we want it to be. And we will.

And we moved back here from Finland so I could spend time with family I barely know after being gone so many years.

Stays the same forever? Guess not.

Usurp the Constitution in same asinine attempt to move the exact opposite??? Now that is how revolts start.

It's great to have pie in the sky hopes that everyone will be fine with handing over more and more of OUR earned money for the "common good", but that isn't reality.
What you wish for does not happen without the use of force. Guess your okay for such things.

Oh good hell.

You like compassion in the form of Govt taking from some and giving to others. I have compassion in my own form.

There is the difference, you need someone, a Govt authority, to make these decisions for you. Thus, you want others to have the same. But, not so much force as to take from you the same percent as those that you deem as having too much.

And this has little to do with the self-sufficient straw-man argument you pitch.

This has to do with what I stated above.

An Army of one....interesting.

Guess I will never see such greatness *sigh*, but I guess military life isn't for me.......

You do find the irony in military members taking care of each other, as in brothers and not expecting outsiders to pitch in or even understand.
