Seemed like less fantastical ads this year... might have been because I was so engrossed in watching my team win, though.

Anyway, there were a couple that stood out.

1. I LOVED the Kevin Hart Hyundai ad. As a dad with an 8 Y/O daughter who won't date for at least 10 years, I appreciated everything about the commercial. I won't be buying a Hyundai, but that's because I drive large SUVs and trucks exclusively.

2. I have no freaking clue what they were thinking with that PuppyMonkeyBaby abortion of an ad idea. Too bizarre and too disturbing to even be on the air, IMO.

3. I liked the Doritos baby commercial. Made me laugh a little too hard, actually.

4. Liked the Budweiser puppy love one.

5. The Deathwish Coffee ad was good.

6. The entire Google Alexa thing disturbs me, including their commercials.

I was really not impressed this year. Last year was far better.

Thats funny and not to understand. For an european.
So there was a "football" match last night, and all the people have to talk about is the commercials?
Think only US americans can understand that and be happy with talking about the commercials after a sport event.
Never heared about people talking only about the ads after any olympics, or soccer world championship, or(put any sport event in here, except the US superwbowl)...
In the rest of the world people switch the TV off when they see commercials, because it are commercials.

Funny somehow

Every show people talk during commercials and say shut up when they end. The Superbowl is the one time people do the opposite and say shut up when the commercials start.

Commercials cost a huge amount of money, so the very best ideas are reserved for the Superbowl, and the commercials tend to be interesting and well done.

ETA: Example. GLOBO charged .039 million per second for ads at the world cup. Superbowl ads cost .13 million per second, over 3 times more, in 2014. They now cost 25% more.

Agreed - the sheep were in fact quite entertaining, IMHO...

The 'cussing Brit Lady' (aka Dame Helen Mirren, who is spot on by the way) was a humor only she can pull off.

But....

With my daughter being 8 months along with her first child, after I finally stopped laughing about the Doritos/ Sonogram commercial, I actually feared my son-in-law was being crucified at that very moment!!
My son told me that there was nothing better than sitting next to his sister at the very moment the Mom threw the Dorito and her baby launched...Crap, here I go again with the uncontrollable laughing!!

Better knock it off.. my boss may get miffed!!

Wasn't the Bud puppy love from a couple of years ago? The new one with a whole 3 seconds of badly filmed horse sucked. I want my clydesdales, darn it, not some guy twacking foam off his beer. Plus the message made me want to go drink a craft beer, and I don't even like beer. That one made me mad, lol. I enjoy watching the game even though I don't really care much about it, but I really look forward to seeing the horses. They could have featured Mac, the new foal. They blew it.

The singing sheep were awesome, the weiner dog run was cute, and the doritos baby had DH laughing out loud. PuppyMonkeyBaby was nightmarish, as I think it was meant to be. There were some other funny ones, but none that really stand out to me.

Everybody talks about the ads because they spend millions on 30 second commericals during the game. They are supposed to pull off their funniest, coolest, cleverest ads for the Superbowl. Sometimes they are great and freaking hilarious, and sometimes they are a total horrific lifesucking downer, like the Nationwide ad last year.

I was bummed about the Clydesdales this year, those are the ads I always look forward to. I got to see them once as a kid all harnessed up and was allowed to pet them. I think I came up to their knees, hahaha! I still wanted to climb up, but that I couldn't do.

The Doritos as was slightly odd, but yeah I laughed too. Helen Mirin was great, and good on Budweiser for pointing that out at the start of the fourth quarter.

The baby monkey puppy was messed up in so many ways, but I guess it worked because people are talking about it.

It's really a tie between the sheep and the wiener dogs for me. They were both cute.

I haven't seen a good commercial in a long time.

I "get" the funny ones, I just don't laugh. They seem like low-brow, slapstick-style, low brow, idocracy-inspired humor to me. Talking or dancing babies aren't cute or funny to me.

It seems to me that the only way these commercials would be funny is if I was extremely drunk, a kid, or possibly both.

I went to the movies instead of watching the sportsballgame, so I didn't see the commercials. I assume, however, that they are just like every other year.

I have TiVo so I only watch recorded stuff, and fast forward through the advertisements. It makes watching television programs much more bearable.

There's nothing wrong with watching a football game and laughing at a few commercials. We all know the world is going to crap. Why can't people relax once in awhile without being ridiculed?

For the record, I wasn't extremely drunk or a child. I actually read an Oscar Wilde novel during the game from start to finish and still saw the best commercials and most important plays. People decompress in different ways. There's nothing wrong with that.

The Doritos ad wins simply because pro-choice people think it's a pro-life conspiracy to humanize babies in the womb. That's a big joke right there.

The whole babymonkeypuppy thing is nightmare fuel with a song like "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time"

in the background so you can be sure it's embedded good deep in your psyche and never leaves you.

I kind of like the Anthony Hopkins one though.

Low brow and slapstick has kept me laughing since grade school, man. To this day, if I see someone slip and fall on their ass, I can't help but point and laugh. I do this because it's funny!

Dancing babies, not funny. Baby rocket launching out of mom's uterus to grab the Dorito dad lost in the corner, HILARIOUS!

As a horse person, missed the Clydesdales....

The Mountain Dew "Puppy Monkey Baby" thing was disturbing, but did it's job...it is being talked about. Man was that weird....

My favorite is the Doritos sonogram one. That made me bust a gut when she threw the chip...(and when he made the baby kick, and she said, "Ow!")....

The Kevin Hart one was cute. (and as a guy with a beautiful 21 year old daughter, I can identify).
