If Bernie Sanders loses the Democratic presidential primary, at least his seat in the Senate should be pretty safe. A survey of voters by Morning Consult out Tuesday reveals that the Vermont independent has the highest approval rating of any U.S. senator, snagging the support of 83 percent of his Vermont constituents. Only 13 percent disapprove.

That's miles ahead of the ratings of some of the GOP presidential hopefuls in the Senate. In comparison, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has an approval rating of 52 percent, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has 50 percent approval. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has a 48 percent approval rating, while South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has 51 percent approval.

Even compared to the most popular Republican in the Senate, Maine Sen. Susan Collins, Sanders soars points ahead. Collins has 78 percent approval from Maine voters and 16 percent disapproval. The only other Democratic senator to come close to Sanders' level of approval is Sanders' fellow Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy, who has 71 percent approval and 22 percent disapproval.

Morning Consult surveyed 76,569 registered voters across all 50 states over several months. The survey's margin of error varies by state sample size, for which the median is 1,172 respondents. Sanders' survey's margin of error is plus or minus 6.5 percentage points.

Just wanna show some love for Sanders because the majority of VT loves him! I want him to win but if he doesn't its very good to know he'll still be in the game!

I don't think what Sanders is selling will work, but I do appreciate the fact that he actually believes in his product. That alone puts him above almost every other candidate in recent memory.

Well, of course he does! The Republicans are deliberately playing the villains and Democratic voters have been closet socialists for decades. Throw in the marauding online socialist Sanders groupies and the socialist MSM and what do you expect?

The MSM is socialist? Quick tell Rupert Murdock that FOX is socialist I want to see his head explode.

The Republicans are in some ways even more socialist than the Democrats just look at all the government money they give to corporations that pay virtually no taxes. They push for more tax breaks for the wealthy that already pays less in taxes than the average middle class worker pays.

Btw way why does you avatar mention socialism but shows a symbol that is associated with Communism?

We really love our junior Senator up here in Vermont. When I talk to my coworkers, "love" is truly how they describe their feelings for him. He is an honest man. Lets send an honest man to the white house for a change!

Because Socialism is exactly the same as Communism, obviously.

Or at least, that's what I've had many, many idiotic and uneducated people try to tell me. It's wrong, but they don't tend to let facts get in the way of their opinions.

Here's the actual symbol of Socialism. As far as I'm aware. It's not as effective at fear mongering as the hammer and sickle though, so not many people know about it or use it.

I'll do better than that. I'll tell you that Rupert Murdoch is one man and Fox News is nothing compared to the hardcore left bias in the rest of the MSM. And I'm not even so sure that Fox isn't just a decoy to make it look like there is any dissent at all in the media. It sure looks that way sometimes when they have tons of good dirt they could be going after and they ignore it and go after the petty BS nobody cares about instead.

The Republicans are in some ways even more socialist than the Democrats just look at all the government money they give to corporations that pay virtually no taxes. They push for more tax breaks for the wealthy that already pays less in taxes than the average middle class worker pays.

That's a really great point. Which is why I always say that the socialists don't have any viable competition at this point. When you see that something is wrong. And as usual, when something is wrong in the general vicinity of a socialist, you don't have to look too far to figure out what's causing it.

And another point. Has it ever occurred to you that historically, socialists/Marxists/communists have always been masters of sabotage? Could it just be that it's entirely possible for a billionaire to be a socialist saboteur who cares far more about his ideology than he does his capitalist wealth? I know some people think that nothing is more complicated than it appears to be but I know gay, Christian Republicans and homophobic "tolerant" Democrats. I've heard of people reading the Bible and watching porn at the same time. I have known black people who were racist against other blacks. Just because someone is a billionaire that doesn't mean they have to be a capitalist.

And as a matter of fact, it makes more sense to question their loyalty if they are smart enough to make millions and yet they choose to flagrantly abuse the system that made them wealthy. Why would they do that unless they were trying to sabotage it? We know for a fact that Warren Buffet is one of them because he doesn't even try to deny it.

Ted Turner? Was once married to Jane Fonda (among his many other red flags). Hmmmm. I wonder what he saw in her (Yes. She was attractive but there were zillions of attractive women who were not communist sympathizers)? Bill Gates? Oh, whaddayaknow? Another filthy rich socialist. The place seems to be crawling with them. And those are just the most obvious ones that you can see. You can't get out of bed without running into the influencial arms of a billionaire socialist like Gates. If you have a Windows computer in your bedroom, you're sleeping with Bill Gates.

And who would have guessed? Now we have Windows 10 and MS has taken on the good old socialist tactic known as "If they won't take it willingly, force it down their throat". Yep. Sounds familiar to me. Oh, and another of their tactics. Entice them with the promise of free stuff and then take all of their choices away so they' just have to take everything you throw at them whether they want it or not.

If there's anything the right wing fears; it's honesty.

Bernie is going to be trashed unmercifully by the extreme right with lies, innuendo and fear mongering.

I'm not totally commited to Sanders but if he corrects the Corporate influence on government policy and gives it back to the taxpayers....GO BERNIE 100%

Bernie and Trump get termed unelectable", they try to treat Bernie like Ron Paul. Yet they all call her the "Hilary machine", she is the unelectable one. IMO Trump and Bernie are the only 2 that people that actually are electable.

How and when did Bernie get into politics? Has he ever held a job in the private sector? He couldn't possibly be one of those career politicians, not with all his benevolent words and kindly ole man looks, could he??

I'm not from Vermont, but you can get a sense of how honest and sincere he is just by listening to his answers and seeing the expression on his face. His voting record speaks for itself. He's truly a man of the people in which he serves.

I might agree with you, if he'd changed his stances a few years ago to where he is now, but he's been doing essentially the same thing since the moment he started. Calling him a "Politician" greatly understates what Bernie Sanders does, he is truly a "Public Servant." Someone who works for the good of the people. Someone who has been fighting for them since the very beginning.

In fact, the corporate strategy is to capitalize the profits while socializing the risks. That's literally a business strategy.

LOL What do you know about socialism? You've got a avatar equating the communist hammer & sickle to socialism. Might as well say that monopolies represent capitalism too, even though true capitalism doesn't allow for monopolies since anyone can enter a market in true capitalism.

While that sounds very noble, the fact remains that he is a life long politician. I had hope, love and respect for Ron Paul too but politicians lie, cheat and steal and that's the good ones. If Bern was not playing by the same rules as the rest, then he would not be in the game at all. The truth is that Bern is a talking head who's job is to make it look like Hilldabeast is actually running against some one when she has really been selected as the new figurehead in chief by the CFR etc.

You've got to take it in some perspective. If Vermont was a city, its population wouldn't be in the top 30 nationally. The state demographically is about 98% white. So I'm not sure it's all that surprising that someone who could win a statewide election would have the support of a majority of the population.

Vermont is anything but a microcosm of the rest of the US. That's great so many people like him, but I don't think that's necessarily transferable across the country. He'll look good against Hillary, but my God if I was a Democrat and those were my options, well I shouldn't even speculate because the premise there is preposterous.

They weren't liberal. They were neocons straight up.

Bernie is a liberal.

The polling shows 69 of 100 United States senators have approval ratings of 50 percent or higher among their own constituents.

Well that doesn't mean anything at all.

Could be like California and they would rather keep Sanders out of state.
