Not as otherworldly as you might expect from an Area 51 black project ,but it looks a lot cooler on the inside than it does on the outside.

The IAS Indicated Air Speed gauge in the cockpit would indicate no more than 700 mph. Unless its just for looks.

That intake was designed to hide it from radar and that's pretty much that aircraft's soul purpose.
Ram jets don't work in subsonic air and that planform isn't designed for anything near high speed.
