MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. The developments on the Turkish-Syrian border suggest Turkey’s intensive preparations for military invasion into Syria, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.

‘We have serious grounds to suspect Turkey of intensive preparations for military intrusion into the territory of the sovereign state — the Syrian Arab Republic. We are registering an increasing number of signs of the Turkish armed forces’ hidden preparations for active operations on the territory of Syria," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman told journalists.

Many checkpoints on the Turkish-Syrian border can be used for preparing infrastructure for a military intrusion into Syria, Konashenkov went on to say.

Russia’s Defense Ministry suspects Turkey of preparations for intrusion into Syria

If this is really going to happen, it is very serious.

Many observers believe that Turkey has been acting as a NATO surrogate in every thing it has been doing in the region in recent times, particularly in aiding ISIS against the regime of Bashar al Assad.

This could lead to a clash between Russian and Turkish forces if the Russians stick by the Syrian government (not necessarily a certainty).

In Moscow the question is, undoubtedly, "What is NATO up to?"

Yes, this is a serious act. My country did not allow the Polish to be Polish and decided to act in their name to have a reason to attack them.

Confusing? We will shoot down every confusing thing.

We will shoot back anyway, don't we?! The question is at whom?

I've realized something.

Nowadays, people do not even read the news. All they do is look at who's reporting something, and if it's the other side it's propaganda. I very much enjoy this change.

I don't think it's highly unlikely that Turks are increasing their military presence at the border. Considering past events, that would seem like a logical thing to do.

Whether or not will they try to get into Syria is highly speculative and we cannot know for sure till something happens.

This news may actually be related in that Russia is sending 4 Su-35S jets To Syria. They may be actually preparing to confront Turkey if they do invade Syria.

Putin ignores Kerry plea, instead deploys Top Gun fighter jet to join Syria battle

The Dutch government recently voted "Yes" to "bombing ISIS in Syria". Yeah.... /smh Everyone is following suit, I'm just not quite sure who's suit it is. Something is very wrong, and it has been this way for a very long time.

At the end of January the American Vice President said that the United States had discussed intervening in Syria with Turkey, to counter DAESH/IS but also discussed helping anti-Assad Sunni rebel forces.

www.reuters.com...

Biden said he and Davutoglu also discussed how the two NATO allies could further support Sunni Arab rebel forces fighting to oust President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkey has penchant for unannounced incursions against the Kurds....
They don't want a Kurdish state forming....
And they will kill off as many Kurds as they can before this is over.....That is their aim.

What Biden said is nothing more than a continuation of the lies that got US into this mess to start with. Murder, rape and starvation all over the ME except...Saudi, Turkey, and.....Israel. Go figure! Not to mention the fall-out on Europe.
Turkey will invade to bolster our terrorists and NATO will come to Turkey's defense. As WWIII develops there our wise leaders continue to poke China in the eye and stir up hostilities at home.
Well life was good for awhile, sorry about your luck, future generations.

Erdogan is a desperate madman.

He has been used as a pawn by NATO and Saudi and their efforts have failed. Odds are he will be tossed to the side by his handlers.

Daesh is their secret army who have lost every bit of ground that they have gained in Syria. Russia has out played the major players in the area and the power balance has shifted to Russia and Iran. This could be seen in Turkeys illegal occupation of Iraq.

Within Turkey's borders Erdogan has his hands full and chaos there is quite likely considering his insistance to wage war against the Turkish Kurds.

Invading Syria will be a big mistake!

Are we witnessing a slow escalation into WW3? I certainly hope not but I fear this could easily escalate to uncontrollable levels very rapidly now. I'm afraid the US ambition of global hegemony has only started by killing hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions of people so far. TPTB will not be satisfied until they control all wealth resulting in the death toll reaching hundreds of millions of innocent individuals. The corporate Ellette do not care and need to be stopped and unfettered capitalism needs to be restrained.

What bothers me is that there are too many items on the NATO "to do" list in this region and the Americans are notorious multi-taskers.

And the sheeple will look terrorist and say they bad lets plunder Afghanistan.
And the sheeple will look terrorist and say they bad lets plunder Iraq.
And the sheeple will look terrorist and say they bad lets plunder Libya.
And the sheeple will look terrorist and say they bad lets plunder Syria.

If Syria didn't have massive gas fields, US, NATO, Saudia Arabia nor Turkey couldn't care less if Assad or Attila the Hun was ruling Syria. Obviously the motive is greed. The Terrorist attacking Syria promote terrorism world wide so external forces can enter Syria without people rising against their governments. One giant con to plunder yet another country.

A good thread and a sad set of truths, F&S.
I have to be brief, and sleep soon. It's not a matter anymore
of IF it happens, but WHEN. Have your stopwatch wound,
ATS... because when Aleppo falls, hit the top button. There
is the beginning.

Why do people think that everything that Russia says is propaganda? Sure some of it is but they act like the US government never does anything like that and can do no wrong?
Our government lies and puts out propaganda just as much or more than any country on the planet. .....

This year is the final push against ISIS in both Iraq and Syria. You expect the Turkey, the US and other coalition members to be more hands on than ever on the push for both ISIS capitals. ISIS as a military force will be done by the end of the year. This is the last stage. Then if their is no peace deal all those rebels with be heading for Assad and their is nothing anybody can do about it.

Saudi Arabia is also talking about supplying ground forces.

In other news Russia changed their narrative on the russian commercial jet brought down in Egypt a few months back. Even though terrorist groups claimed responsibility, and posted videos of it, Russia is now accusing Turkey of bringing it down.

Putin is acting less and less like a nations leader and acting more and more like the bad guys from Hamlet.
