I think your perception may be a little skewed by the fact that today's "serious liberals" are ready to adopt communism, atheism, anarchy, and post-genderism in the US....FDR and Truman would be moderates (and I even hear them label Obama as such pretty often), and JFK / MLK / LBJ would be hated conservatives. Today's liberals don't even have a word for people who want to follow or praise the constitution and American interests, only abject hate.

Your posts are always succinct. That is, with no basis or explanation whatsoever. Have you never watched or read any media ? Have you never looked at any other message boards ? The things I describe are all over the place.

That's the downside of the internet. People are always here to make big societal announcements based on nothing but noise. But we do have freedom of speech, so the guy with the "end is near" sandwich board lives on, magnified on the internet.

This isn't about freedom of speech, or respecting that another has different views than yourself.

Now days, when someone has a view, they want it to be legislation. They want others to abide by that view.

That's not freedom.

In my opinion, and by the very definition of freedom, I would argue that less legislation and laws would create a nation of freedom.

A nation of less legislation and laws should also be a nation with less hand outs and welfare checks. You know it all is tied together.

The government's welfare division should task themselves with getting people OFF welfare rather than figuring how to pass another tax increase.

But getting people truly empowered isn't the goal of our current government. Why? Bcause they want the people dependent and humiliated. The more the better because they'll slurp up everything:

Being able to take care of yourself is directly correlated with being critical of your governemnt and thus why we have such a big government. Government is like an organism. Corporations are similar. Self-preservation. I remember a while back reading about hurricanes. I know they're not alive, but in fact they also nurture an environment friendly to themselves. It's not quite the same thing, but I remember it making me think.
