I just dont fathom how Trump supporters can come close to even comparing him to Reagan, like him or not the guy was a man of his principles

He was also an actor. How convienent that a man whose profession was lieing on camera, pretending to be someone else, would end up becoming President of the United States?

I'm not saying Trump is anywhere near a Reagan. Just saying that skipping the last Iowa caucus debate has happened before without negative effects. According to Fox this morning, it is unprecedented for a contender to skip a debate. By the way, Fox realizes the debate is nothing without Trump, as this afternoon Ailes tries to get Trump's wife and daughter to try to get him to change his mind.

I don't even consider Trump to be a conservative. He isn't a liberal either. The sooner people realize that Trump is just a narcissist, the sooner we'll all see him for who he truly is. Yea, with that he IS comparable to Trump. Both were entertainers before entering into politics.

A point. The 1980 primary season was the first time since 1948 that there were Republican debates, and the one in Iowa Reagan skipped was not planned to be televised. There were 9 candidates in the Republican field at the time and only 5 participated. Reagan lost Iowa and didn't skip any subsequent debates.

Different people, different times. The reach you have to do to even try to favorably compare Reagan and Trump would cause you to dislocate both shoulders.

It's funny to see all this hand wringing by Fox. They were mocking and crowing on Jan 19 when the RNC pulled out of the NBC debates because of the conduct of the moderators. Now that the shoe is on the other foot and their golden-girl Megyn Kelley is getting schlonged by the Donald, their panties are in a bunch.
