...the thread title should be changed or it should be moved to one of their other two forums.

Perhaps your post could also use a disclaimer, something like "I didn't actually watch the video I'm trying to debunk." or "I'm not a Moderator but..."

Unfortunately Chris Murphy is not representative of what most of the people from his state are talking about at any given time, he's prone to many outbursts and sensationalising things. It's a wonder that he stays in office, so I wouldn't put too much stock in what he has to say.
