Interesting for sure. But you think the CIA just wants to gloat about how in the dark people are? This looks to me like more soft disclosure that has been happening over the past few years, like the Pope saying he would baptize ET's, flowing water on Mars, etc.

I have to admit that Gillian is looking nice and perky these days and I would definitely have to tap her lines for homeland security purposes of course.

Sorry if it offends, but this is the way most of us regard UFO believers.

Doesn't offend me any.

To be quite honest I don't see how anyone can be certain of whether they exist or not as their is no evidence to suggest either way.

I think its pretty common for many scientist and most people to believe its unlikely that we are the only life in the universe. In addition , we have observed how life can flourish under extreme conditions. Check out tardigrade.

Also gov'ts of the world are not really known for their upfront honesty nor are Corporations.

I'm not saying they are visiting us but I surely won't say with 100% certainty that they aren't visiting us if they exist. Yes its highly unlikely they are visiting due to the lack of evidence . but I think you can't fully dismiss it either.

If anything I think those who believe with 100% certainty that Aliens exist and are visiting us are equivalent when it comes to grey matter to those who believe 100% that they aren't.

Also I think the gov;t and corporations have done a fairly good job at earning that distrust.

Actually there is evidence to suggest they exist like videos, pictures, eye witnesses and physical trace cases. It might not be hard proof but it's evidence.

Is the translation that we are laughing at you and cant believe people take this seriously?

I think the translation is they expect extra traffic to the site off the back of the new X Files series so here's a starter for those interested.
Ironically the CIA have some real answers to the UFO question but aren't publishing those.

The truth is in there.

We hard working operatives at the CIA will gladly give all you curious UFO seekers our documents. We aren't an agency of secrecy. We are an open book! Always have, and always will be!

Give me a break..

Maybe we should all remind them, and remind ourselves as well, that they, the CIA implanted African Americans and many others with venereal diseases without their knowledge or consent, which caused many deaths and crippling injury, and they dosed people with drugs and other diseases in the United States and those in the CIA that did these things were never punished or exterminated like they needed to be.................

I think you may have got yourself a bit confused over the finer details of this one.

The CIA did not implant African Americans with venereal disease. The Tuskegee Study was totally unethical but was carried out by monitoring African Americans known to be suffering with syphilis. The US Public Health Service, working with the Tuskegee Institute told the men they were being treated for a blood disease but were actually given nothing to treat syphilis. The study lasted from 1932 to 1972!

www.cdc.gov...

Doesn't mean they are Central Intelligence Angels either. Just that their dirty hands weren't on this one. Especially as the CIA was not formed until 15 years after this study began.

As regards the CIA and UFOs I prefer their page

How To Investigate a Flying Saucer

Be sure to follow their guidelines to the letter!

Okay, please do not eat me alive here, but I have to say something about UFO people. A lot of them see something in the sky that they cannot identify, and immediately think it's aliens.

Look at this WASP X Jet, it's just about my favourite thing ever, and the way it moves is similar to a typical UFO.

There's another video but it's much longer, if you're interested just look up WASP X Jet. My point is that humans can and do make a lot of crazy technology. Even well known things like helicopters, well there are many different types of helicopter, and some move significantly faster than most helicopters. And then of course, we have all these other flying machines that move in different ways and at different speeds.

I think the main reason that UFO files are classified is not because of a big alien conspiracy, but rather to protect technology from foreign agents. In the same vein, if a nation released technical information about a foreign military craft, this would be seriously bad news for diplomatic relations.

Now, I am not saying that alien aircraft do not exist, nor do I wish to disparage anybody who believes in such things. Nor do I wish to spark a debate about the existence of aliens. It's just that the field of UFO study has been dragged down by the vocal fools who cry "alien" instead of "wolf" at the slightest hint of extraterrestrial possibility. I am sorry to say that for many people, UFOs have become a bit of a laughing stock. Especially with false news sites, like "Before It's News" that many people are duped by. And all too often, skeptics are thrown out of the debate with accusations like "government lackey" and "blind sighted sheep", et cetera. Rational debate is seldom seen amongst UFO groups.

But is this attitude towards UFOs really because of the CIA? I'm not American, and you must remember that the CIA does not control the world.

If any government is in partnership with aliens, it will be because the aliens want it that way. If an extraterrestrial being is capable of traversing the universe, you'd think they'd be able to say hello to everyone if that is what they wanted.

Blame the government? Maybe blame the aliens.

But evidence of what? Unless you are privy to the latest military tech and R&D efforts you are more likely than not to mistake some new human tech as Alien tech.

I can tell you first hand that civilian technology is at least multiple decades behind what is being worked on.

I have also been a first hand witness of one of those black silent space crafts back in the 80's. I witnessed it with my uncles at my grandmothers house, and my cousin a few blocks down confirmed the sighting as well.

There are some strange aspects to the sighting we experienced. However, I couldn't jump to the conclusion that it was Alien tech even from our first hand experience and the strange circumstances surrounding it.

Although it doesn't associate the CIA directly or the Culinary Institute of America , the US gov't has performed experiments where they have infected people with STD without their consent or misled the participants in the past with decremental effects to their health.

www.cdc.gov...

Syphilis Study at Tuskegee:
The study initially involved 600 black men – 399 with syphilis, 201 who did not have the disease. The study was conducted without the benefit of patients' informed consent

The men were never given adequate treatment for their disease.

www.nbcnews.com...

U.S. apologizes for Guatemala STD experiments:

U.S. government medical researchers intentionally infected hundreds of people in Guatemala, including institutionalized mental patients, with gonorrhea and syphilis without their knowledge or permission more than 60 years ago.

Although I don't see any solid proof to suggest Aliens are visiting , I can understand why so many people have lost their trust when it comes to Gov't and Corporations for that matter.

BTW I started my career at the Cape for USA back in the 90's - mid late 2000's ,my office was in the OSB . Is that when you worked for them?

I just found the wording amusing, atypical and kind of strange coming from the CIA in regards to the topic of UFO.

You got almost everything right about the details except for the fact that a percentage of them, i forget which percentage exactly, did not previously have syphilis and were indeed given it. The percentage that had it previously were used as the control.

I interpret it as the CIA having some fun with pop culture. I don't think this release of information is meant to confirm or deny anything. I think it is meant to leave you with exactly the same opinion that you had before reading it.

my congrats. for the thread being posted before of mine! I wouldn't if I knew it. Let only tell you, that neither this thread nor mine were listed in LIVE and NEW.

First I thought of posting in Breaking (alternative) news, and only then decided to post it in "UFO, Aliens" forum with the thought the "news" won't be news after a month but will be still discussed. So practically I didn't browse UFos and Aliens to search for a thread of CIA.

Sorry but when I "search" I usually don't READ ALL the threads, but use webpage search function CTRL F to see the frontpage or the page where LIVE threads are being posted 12h ago. The once very good Search function of the site is not so good now.

Thank you anyway. The news is far beyond my involvement in it whatsoever, and is worth of threads and comments in the time to come!

LOL it happens often. Do I get a prize?

FWIW if its my thread I never report it . Just this week it happened with another one of my thread. I usually chuckle at it because typically the later posts gets more attention.

The funniest was when I created an earlier thread and it was discovered that there were two threads on the same topic they accidentally closed mine citing that someone else already created a thread on the topic.

Example:
I created this one: posted on Jan, 24 2016 @ 02:33 PM and it got 2 stars.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

then this thread about the exact same topic and video was posted a couple days later on Jan, 26 2016 @ 01:47 AM got 12 stars.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

No biggie, as far as I'm aware we don't get paid on stars, post, flags, or threads.

you are absolutely right we are not paid for that!

The CIA news is beyond comprehension. Not that there weren't similar releases from the British. But now the attention is more on such topics, after Hawking lecture in Australia via 3D hologram, and so on. If there i a time for disclosure it is now, before WW3. I wonder how there are people who pretend they want some disclosure but don't want another one. We either have it or not, and that concerns all of us, all 7 bln people not some closed circle of 150,000 people who watch those youtube videos and visit websites of insiders. The struggle between insiders is the most absurd thing if they are not so many and not so widely accepted, but it is a fact. The world is beyond that, and hope it deserves full disclosure soon. Or may be ET make themselves

I am happy to stand corrected but the sources I read all said something to the effect that there were 399 African Americans who had contracted syphilis and 201 who weren’t infected (as control subjects) in the study.

Do you have a source for your information?

I wouldn't take anything that the CIA "officially" releases remotely seriously at all. They probably released it inline with the X-Files to make the general public take it less seriously and distract them from the real truth which I doubt the CIA will be releasing anytime soon.

I don't think the author of the CIA blog was attempting to be smug. I think it was an effort at being humorous. Come on guys, these people have seen a lot of stuff that would make most of us go to an early grave - give them some credit for trying to have a little bit of fun with this.
