Obstruct Injustice Cicada 3301 2016

Looks like the 2016 puzzle for Cicada 3301 has been released.

All though I personally am not a code cracker, I do enjoy watching and reading everyone else get into it. I've seen some threads pop up about this throughout there years I have been here on ATS, so I thought I'd post the latest puzzle to see what you folks can come up with.

I hone in on the word master because the word masterful was used on the utube clue which leads me to the Koan on the Liber Primus. Also this stands out from the utube and the Koan lesson quoted above: Listen closely the keys are all around you.

Definition of a Koan:
A paradox to be meditated upon that is used to train Zen Buddhist monks to abandon ultimate dependence on reason and to force them into gaining sudden intuitive enlightenment.

The Letter "I" might come into play

The number grid above might be the cipher. If we pull the letters or numbers out of that large text using those space holders. For example: What letter(s) or number(s) is in spot or line 434 ? What letter(s) or number(s) is in spot 1311 ?
& so on so forth...

Content of the above url looks like a hexadecimal code to me...


Not only that...If you look at the title of the website(original page where the poem is), counter url and comment below poem there is a sequence in all three that looks like encryption. They all start with BM2c so it may be a clue. I also ran it through hashid but it couldn`t recognise a type of encryption.

You need to translate Hex to base64 then base64 to image which gives you .jpg file...

Edit: Note same BM2c codes on image....bottom horizontal one is the same as that of url while vertical one is the same as title...

I can confirm that this is the same video. It is actually 40.2 mb but for some reason I was keep getting files from 5mb to 30mb. Had to repeat like 15 times to get the whole package.

Thanks for all your contributions. I had been trying to convert the data with tools online but I was not sure on which format to convert it to. I think I have converted it to binary and base64 and decimal. Now that you mention it can be converted to image from base64, i want to try but i can't seem to find a converter this morning to do that. I am not very knowledgeable in this stuff. But I can try.

The video is working. It looks like a depiction of a "Jesus" figure lying on a rock/slab with water pouring upward while music plays as a crescendo. Water starts to fall upward off of this "Jesus" figure slowly at first and then more heavily like a waterfall. Eventually this "Jesus" figure gets lifted up and disappears, all the while the water is pouring up (like a backwards waterfall). Then in the end the water stops and goes away too.

I don't know what it is suppose to represent, a cleansing or enlightening... the soul is heavy/dark at first then becomes light ?

I will have to come back later... as I'm off to work for now.

About the hex...you can try it here to convert to base64.

I first converted it to ASCII but then saw that it is a .PNG file edited in photoshop so normally you would want to convert it to base64 before imaging it.

After you get the code just click on it and hit ctrl+A to select all from that one line...then use below link.

codebeautify.org...

Just paste the base64 code, hit generate image and It will give you the mentioned picture which you can download as .JPG afterwards.

About the video itself, I noticed it is the same length(3.14) and same music as from the OP video that you have posted so it must be connected somehow. Can`t recognise author though...and the mentioned length 3.14 is a number of Pi and if you look at the link...

It is Pi So Pi is definitely a key here if you ask me...Also BM initials from the encryptions, i found out that these are bitmessages.

I also googled verses from the home page and it leads to George Gordon Byron, 17th Century English baron and boet.
Don`t know how this is all connected but I will look into it later, probably same time as yesterday when I have free time...

Edit: Here is a link to a subReddit thread if you want to join in there too although it seems pretty dead. You could always go to the irc's I suppose. Or try some of the onion chans and forums to find people working on it. I will trawl around onionland later on today and give you guys any links I find.

Perhaps I will but I see no point if it`s dead...

Right now I can`t get that Pi out of my head. That clip is a dead end except for Pi where I think it points to. So looking at that url they seem to end the count at 49th digit, which makes it 50 digits. So I broke it into pairs and you get a square, just like they have it in cicadian...

Problem is that it doesn`t mean anything or at least I can`t see it...or it could also be a wrong approach to begin with.

The primes are sacred. The totient function is sacred.

The primes match up to their Gematria Primus,we can actually pull letters off their chart.
The #'s that are not prime, I looked them up on a totient function calculator and entered the answer to coincide with each accordingly.

It is a neat idea but I`m just not seeing it. Perhaps if the numbers are rearranged in the right order to meet liber gematria...so that numbers can be substracted by primes.

For example if we take 226 from liber... 226 = 71 + 7 + 61 + 31 + 3 + 53

Then we might get something meaningful out of it...I have also found this interesting video about Pi, definitely worth watching even if it`s only a coincidence...

These things are really interesting to me too, but way beyond my meager puzzle solving abilities! I'll just watch from the sidelines and be amazed at everyone who can figure these things out.

IIRC, didn't someone say in the past that these are some sort of recruiting tools/puzzles for some alphabet agency or something? Or am I thinking of something else?
