I know where you are coming from. I lost a significant amount of retirement funds due to preparing for and trying to apply some timeline for the worst. Lesson learned there. I'm not going to do that again, but rather have sensible funds and ride it out. I certainly can't speak for or advise on anyone else's situation though. I do agree that people should prepare as appropriate for down periods. If money becomes worthless and we get to the knives and guns phase, well then I'm not prepared for that and will need to reconsider my options
A harem? AWESOME!

Scary world you're envisioning there.
I prepare too, but I've also grown kind of fond of air conditioning, modern medicine, the Internet, etc., so unlike many preppers, I am NOT looking forward to it coming. I prep not just for some future "what if", but for any potential even short-term life upset, as well as often, it's just better for you (like eating my own chickens' eggs, etc.).

lol, that's true. We love the cool apocalypse movies and daydreaming about our awesome successes and victories out there in the wild.
But then you look at some video of Somalia, or Beirut, or New Orleans / Detroit.....and you say "well that would actually suck and not be cool at all". Especially when your loved ones can and will be picked off at any time. And you really are starving and coughing up stuff. You don't win every exchange of gunfire like the walking dead either.....when you get winged it rips out a huge chunk of meat, not the little bandages like on the show.

I'm not usually one to buy into doom and gloom
You shouldve stopped there.
The show must go on. There are plenty of bandaids left in the box. This correction will not lead to the shtf scenario like many choose to believe.
Sorry!
