If it leads to a long term relationship, it is a good thing.
But often it leads to bad things.

Love bite?

Depends. There is a reason they call it "falling in love" . If you feel like you fell full spread from a mountain , then yes. That is love.

The actual balance of chemicals between lovers can be compared to the activities of a binary Star system, as the Stars repel or attract one another.

Depending on the chemical balance the Stars may attract and keep each other close company
or repel and avoid each other for very very very long periods (which can get boring)

That is if there is a strong enough bond (elliptical orbit) between the lovers established.
For some chemical imbalances may be too offset between the Stars and so no elliptical orbit is established between the Stars and so the Stars then are sent into opposite directions perhaps to attract better companions...

“Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness.” ― Louise Erdrich

If you don't try you will never know - maybe it can be the best thing that ever happened in your life. Or just an experience and good memories at least.

As the saying goes..."Better 30 minutes of something wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special."
