The only way the US population cares about war, is if their is a republican in office. When was the last time you saw an anti war rally? How about a MSM story about how many bombs were dropped in 2015? How many books or how much food each bomb could have bought? How many Americans have died in the battle in 2015? Gitmo was the most evil place ever, now not only isn't it so evil, they brought secret prisons to America.

I don't know if part of this is, anti war people are sponcered by the same 1%ers who sponcers Democrats at the nation level? If the PC crowd would feel racism protesting a black president? If the left only cares about political power?

I am not sure the reason, all I know is: the last time I saw a anti war protest, was on the back of a milk carton....

Correlation doesn't equal causation. Especially in this case.

The 1%ers sponsor both parties roughly equally. If you're looking for peace, support Sander, get the corruption out of government. Most of the GOP are totally f*cking nuts anyway, the only one I'd even consider is Rand. Unfortunately, it's Bernie or Bust. He gets supported over any Republicans, any Republican gets supported over Clinton. Even Cruz, though it pains me to say.

OP has a point. ABC/NBC/CBS/all the other 99% liberal media outlets used to lead off every news report with how many troops died that day. Now, good luck finding it on their site. BUT, if Trump or another Republican gets elected, I guarantee they will begin the newscasts leading again with troop deaths, unemployment rates, and the homlessness epidemic.

Are you aware that the liberal media is almost all owned by rich conservatives? Some people fall for anything.

All the republican candidates are war whores with the exception of Rand Paul who apparently lives in another dimension.
The pickins' are slim for the GOP.

Because now it is very rare any troops dies and when it happens it gets headlines. 22 in Afghanistan last year and Iraq 2. Although those include accidents etc. and just combat related deaths. That is a big difference than the 800 a year in Iraq and another 500 in Afghanistan we were at. Hard to lead off the news with how many troops that died that when it is zero.

As for the OP, when Americans are not being killed in large numbers people do not tend to protest.

Right now, I wouldn't vote for a Republican to be so much as dog-catcher, much less as a representative of the people.

World peace will never come from the GOP because their real goal is global domination and not peace.

Republicans think that the road to peace is paved with fear of the U.S..

In reality, true peace is a byproduct of mutual respect and understanding, not fear.

The reason you can't find it is because it isn't happening. If they reported no deaths each day there would still be complaints telling them to shut up.

Such things would be reported if it got worse which it would based of his plans.

No one on the left would have the balls to protest anything Obama does for fear of being called a "racist bigot". It's true.

False.

There is no way you can claim the Peace Poets from New York are not the left and this story is so recent it came out 4 hours ago.

Protesters tell Obama: closing Guantánamo is your responsibility

That's just plain silly.

I am constantly amazed that this simple reality continues to elude so many in this country.

I'm amazed by how many people on this site haven't figured out that neither party is for the people and that by voting you are just wasting paper and playing into the illusion of having a choice in political matters.

World peace will never happen, it simply is not possible, there will always be conflict on at least a small scale, unless everyone was exactly the same and thought exactly alike.

Vote a libertarian into office if you really care about war (and not being in ones that are unnecessary and way too long).

This thread reminds of another one from last week, I think, that claimed "extremist" patriot groups only care about government overreach when there is a democrat in office.

You are sadly mistaken, everytime a Republican is in the house the inevitable happens - War, wars that end up being blamed on the next democrat to fill office.

Secondly, there are LOADS of anti-war protests - but the republican controlled media.. well you know.
