Could be an undeveloped Siamese twin, which I have seen occur in other animals though most don't live a whole year, they live a month if lucky

Teratoma seems the likely cause. I looked up some pics of teratoma on google and what is growing out of that mountain lion`s head looks just like the stuff I saw after searching for it.

Definitely weird although it happens to all sorts of creatures.
