Woman, 11 Children Held Hostage in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb County SWAT members responded to a motel early Tuesday morning where a woman and 11 children are being held hostage.

Police rushed to the Rite 4 Us Inn and Suites on Snapfinger Woods Drive just after 3:00 a.m. According to police, officers responded to a 911 call coming from one of the motel rooms. Inside the unit is a man, the children and a woman.

Why must they pull the children in to their cracker barrel lifes? Another situation that will most likely involve poverty & possible drugs. Or perhaps trafficking? 11 kiddos none the less, let's hope they fair well. After all its only a knife. For now......

UPDATE — The SWAT situation in Georgia has ended and the 11 children have been rescued from the motel room. CBS46 reported that the male suspect stabbed himself in the neck when police entered the motel room.

yea, most that do stuff like taking hostages. anit right in da head.
at least he stabbed himself, instead of one of the kids.

Good hopfully he bleeds out and dies and saves the world from ever having to deal with him again. Saves money on court fees and jail forever too.

I take it the hostage-taker is not a Muslim, else everybody would have screamed 'terrorism' and there would have been 1000 threads about it all over ATS, with all the calls to get rid of all Muslims.

I'll second what another poster just said, hopefully he dies.
It's one of those times where I really hope the ambulance "has some trouble finding him" and "does all they can, but medical intervention could not save him".

We could use a few less oxygen thieves running around the planet (more than a few, really)
