Bundy clan does not speak for, nor represent, the mindset of all mormons.

Then perhaps you actually see my point.
It really is not that subtle.

Mormons were part of the founding of the USA . Now i'm only saying this because that's the truth, not that i'm religious.
en.wikipedia.org...

But, they also saved all records on most of the Colonies and States to this day. Without them people would have a really hard time finding their ancestry intact if at all.

Does it make them gods? No of course not, no more than any other religion. But what i am saying is that is was one of the founding religions next to Xianity that was part of the foundation of USA. it's a fact that is all.

Fair enough, how bad does it have to be for you to advocate taking up arms?

Btw I am athiest so I do not fight for any religion holding moral authority, but like I have said his contempt crosses racial and religious lines for many. If he is doing this for God and he acts violently then he would fall into the religious extremist category. I only say that because as of now I want to protect smooth transition of power, and do not yet believe it's time to take up arms. However that could change as things do seem dismal and going down a dark path.

At the moment, no more or less so than say Mitt Romney, just a little less diplomatic, poorer and more pissed.

BUT, the snowball effect may very well result in propaganda outlets eventually classifying him and his clan as one, and then he will be a domestic terrorist, and then the Patriot Act kicks in, and then the children be damned, it will be WACO 2.0.

You can bet if it was a bunch of muslims they would be saying it is Islamic terrorism.
So yup it is.

You did what you were told to do, what society required of you and why? In the name of War.
No. I protested vehemently against a war which was unjust, unnecessary, and uncalled for. Peacefully, as did millions of others. The radicals did not help the cause, they hindered it. Because of the actions of the radicals, peaceful protesters were killed.

My apologies, I did not know. I understand where you're coming from now. Thankyou.

He says he is doing it because his prophet tells him to.
Sound familiar?

Yes it does? However and this is the important nuance, many who come from all backgrounds understand his cause and contempt. So there really isn't a unifying doctorine here, this is political wether or not it is for him.

I think personally, that people who have been USA citizens for more than a generation are closer to the land than immigrants and would be safe to assume that they feel more inclined to claim their heritage and rightfully so. Do you know what i mean? Like England, or Ireland or Scotland.

The people's heritage is set in stone, the blood runs deep. When that is threatened, people tend to become unsteady and aware of the threat to undo all of that. The gov't has a bad track record for theft and every evil under the sun. I cannot blame these people for defending what they feel rightfully theirs to defend.

Yes yes, I got your main point for this thread... which is why I made mention of it.

And yes, I too am tired of all the extra-wide-paint-brush-generalizing going on around here.

But I have to ask then:

Why dredge up and beat an already dead horse by making yet another pigeonholing thread?
Why purposefully go out of your way to stir the pot even more than it's already stirred ?

Why drag yourself down to the lowest common denominator ?

Irrelevant. He is acting on his religious principles, not political.
That he has been unable to gain support from his fellow Mormons, or anyone else demonstrates that on the whole, Americans are actually rational people. Able to recognize irrational behavior.

This is going to be a fun thread. OP, you weren't subtle, but I bet a lot of people aren't going to make the connection. For what it's worth, it helped me out.

To point out how low it is. To those who don't seem to be able to see it in themselves.

a reply to: Phagewere those his exact words, as quoted by him??? Did you quote that yourself ???

"rooted in the belief" does not translate into "his prophet tells him too" . Do not twist his words for your own agenda. That is, you clearly want others to seem him as a violent fanatic, even though no shot has been fired and he states they will leave peacefully if the community asks, not the sheriff, a single man.
