Against the criminal state Israel; the country, in the grip of Zionist control, will probably give the bribed politicians a metal of honor for sucking up to Israel and betraying the country.

The American press is Zionist controlled as well as the congress so this will turn into nothing

Pssst, your Anti-Semitism is out like a sore thumb.

In the wake of the USS Liberty incident, the Government of Israel is alleged to have made a major political effort to keep from losing the support of elected American officials. This was done against the background of the coming elections of 1968. From what I have read, wealthy private supporters of Israel in the United States brought a lot of financial weight into pressure being put on American legislators to hold the course with regard to Israel, notwithstanding the attack on the Liberty.

So the money then, and I believe, the money now (against the background of the 2016 elections), was not coming from Israel itself, but from sources inside the US, very supportive of Israel.

The situation being cited by the OP seems to have been part of an effort by Republicans to scuttle the Iran nuclear deal, which included an end run around the Obama administration to invite the Israeli Prime Minister to address a joint session of Congress and even an outrageous letter from 47 Senate Republicans to Iran undermining the confidence of that foreign country in agreements signed with a sitting US President.

Text of the letter:

blogs.wsj.com...

Scathing editorial responses to the letter from 22 newspaper editors:

www.politicususa.com...

The real origin of these sorts of developments is a kind of chicken or egg question. Did the opposition to the administration originate in Israel or in Congress? Who's using whom?

I would hesitate to blame Israel for the fact that so many American legislators are in the business of selling influence.

Note: I just wanted to add that I don't believe that the opposition to the Iran nuclear deal is really about nukes or proliferation. I think it is about sanctions, specifically the removal of sanctions that would attend a nuclear deal, and the consequent increase that would bring to the amounts of discretionary spending money available to Iran. Israel doesn't fear nuclear attack from Iran. They fear financial intervention by Iran in the fortunes of Hezbollah. That is the real issue being fought behind a curtain of nuclear diplomacy.

Keep in mind that Russia or Pakistan or North Korea could give nuclear arms to Iran at any time they chose. (As the US and the UK did, clandestinely, with Israel.)

The nuclear issue is the only way that the United States can sell a clamp down on Iran. There is a mutuality of interests between Israel and the United States in wanting such a clamp down. Israel fears Hezbollah and the United States wants to be the unopposed hegemonic leader in this oil rich part of the world.

In what world would any US Citizen be pissed that we're spying on an ally? Especially one so open and trustworthy as Israel - not that I begrudge them that - they're smart, and I guarantee they're spying on us too.

I think the "libs" as you so sneerignly refer to them as couldn't care less about the US spying on its allies. Countries spy on each other, it happens. The US probably spies on Australia, and us in turn on the US.

What the "libs" are actually pissed about is A) your politicians being treasonous, and B) all the surveillance that is placed on them. The actual citizens of the US.

The motivation behind their unwise and ultimately ineffective resistance to the President’s diplomatic agenda has finally come to light. A new report from the Wall Street Journal reveals that NSA wiretaps found that the the Israeli Prime Minister and other officials of the Israeli governments attempted to, and most likely succeeded, to bribe American legislators in exchange for their support against the deal.

Two words BULL and CRAP.

So how does one actually get their hands on 'NSA wiretaps' Eh ?

Let alone the WSJ.

And to be published by sites of all sites'.

The WSJ story tells it differently, unsurprisingly, than OccupyDemocrats.

In fact, if there was any bribery offered, it appears to be to Democrats (of course.)

It's obvious the Republicans were already on Bibi's side.

That's because the "Democrats got bribed" thread was an absolute lie.

Xuenchen accused the dems of taking bribes from Iran over the same issue but as it turned out, the group she accused of making the bribes was actually a lobbying organization set up by Americans of Iranian descent with no connection to the Iranian govt.

As much as I dislike lobbying groups, they are legal here in America.

Having the leader of a foreign country attempt to bribe our elected officials into obstructing a foreign policy initiative is just a little bit different.

For future reference, you should know that Xuenchen is the Sorcha Faal of ATS and anything he/she says should be taken with much less than a grain of salt.

How in the world is "what's it going to take to get your vote?" bribing? I hear this all the time in business. "What will it take to get your business." It's not a bribe there, either. I'm not even a Republican, and think this is incredibly flimsy material. Of course, it usually is.. from every party.

It is good to see that AIPAC and associated groups can fail sometimes in their efforts to control the federal government, but the longer this goes on, I think AIPAC should be forced to register as an agency of a foreign government.

Yeah well, maybe we should wait for the answers they gave when that question was posed.

Do you think any of our congressional representatives answered that question by informing Netanyahu that the best way for him to get their vote would be for him to become an American citizen with voting rights who lives in the district they were elected to represent?

I'd bet money that Netanyahu didn't get that response, or anything like it, from any of them.

How's this any different than business as usual in DC? The big Corporations bribe both sides ALL THE TIME. Bill and Hillary have been taking bribes from foreign countries for years now. AND why would Israel have to bribe anyone to vote against that joke of an agreement?

The original WSJ report says nothing about the political parties of the contactees. That's just the political spin of the blatantly leftist "Occupy Democrats" website.

The WSJ report says "undecided" congressmen.

I'd bet my right testicle that the large majority of "undecided" congressmen were Democrats.
