The first report is a 4.8 quake on the tip of vancouver, about 60 miles from me at 42 km deep. NO WAY. I am getting reports from all over feeling it strongly. This is very odd!!!

NO WAY a 4.8 at 42 km deep was felt that strong that wide. It's very, very strange.

I remember in the '90's a 3.3 in Concrete Washington and in Bellingham it made the house shake for 20 seconds.

I wonder if any tsunami will happen from this tonight.

I did not feel it here in Lake Tapps but some friends of mine renting a home I own up in Mount Vernon felt some shakes.

I was laying in bed...the short high frequency vibration felt like I was going astral lol...passed it off as my imagination. I was wrong!

There are reports from a HUGE area coming in. Up in BC all the way down to Olympia.

It was 50km deep, so I guess the Puget Sound Basin acts like bathtub and the energy waves just slosh around. Pretty bizarre.

One thing to note, is that at that depth and location, it possibly came from the dreaded locked zone of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. That always makes me a bit jumpy.

There is no tsunami risk from this quake, for those wondering!

Felt it immediately, I was standing up and charging my phone then all of sudden I felt like my body lifted, not moving forward/backward. It was indeed strange experience.

When I saw that Vancouver quake, I went here.

www.earthquakescanada.nrcan.gc.ca...

The site isn't providing info for me. Is anyone one else having problems?

It may be just my system.

I did send a message to the site, but haven't received a reply since writing this post.

Canadian officials confirm largest earthquake caused by fracking

When a 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck British Columbia on 17 August, 2015, many were suspicious the event had something to do with a nearby fracking

Well... no aftershocks.

With a quake of this size (moderate), you would expect to see some. Not unheard of, since it was so deep, but still...it makes me a bit uneasy.

Officials are saying that it was likely below the locked zone of the CSZ, but still...

Awww....be glad to make it through the next few days without seeing something bigger!

Its not odd at all. Infact its perfectly normal when you live on or near a fault line.

I thought I felt a 2 second roll last night as I was falling asleep; just passed it off as the neighbors. This was from the north end of Tacoma. (Yes, I made the move from the East coast back to the West coast last month.)

The pros are probably right about the earthquake source being inside the subducting slab, or below it, because the moment tensor shows normal faulting.
Movement to keep noted in the mental filing cabinet, nonetheless.
