Well, specifically in the discussion between you and I, you asked about the difference between how christians and muslims view homosexuality. So we were both talking about christianity in that case as well as islam.

Ah, the Crusades, that stigma that is pinned on Christianity which was a direct result of the barbaric practices and brutal advancement islam in the very first Rashidan Caliphate in 692 perpetrated by the muslims. All i can say is thank god for the Crusades, all nine of them.

Hey, at least someone is admitting that spite has a whole lot to do with this. They attack Christianity because they enjoy getting Christians upset. It has more to do with that than "proving" anything to anyone, or (for most of them) accomplishing a sociopolitical agenda.

Hate and bigotry are the primary motivators. They take satisfaction in making Christians feel bad about themselves.

It's disgusting and shameful.

Men are separated from women in Mosque, not women from the men.

Secondly Muhammad said the most important person in life is your mother, the 2nd most important is your mother, and the third most important person in life is your mother, 4th is your father.

Women are not subservient via Islam, they're subservient via Middle Eastern practice much like the women in "Christian" Africa.

Does ANY religion have an "official" position on any of its tenements and doctrines?

I mean, there certainly are large factions within each major world religion ... but that's it, they're not a united cohesive entity. We have the Pope, but he's not looked on by Protestants as the leader of all Christians...we have the Supreme Leader in Iran, but not all Muslims pay him any attention.

Religion is spiritual in nature, and because its spiritual -- it's personal. Everyone is going to have a slightly different way of seeing their relationship with the God of their choosing. Each individual is going to come to their own personal understanding and interpretation of their Holy Book.

I don't know the answer to your question. I don't follow the teachings of Islam. However, my subtle point in asking those questions was to point out that depending upon who you ask you'll get the same answer for both of them.

Nope. Once again you just don't listen to what liberals have to say and instead listen to your right wing propagandists and what they say liberals think. You want to know what liberals think??? But since the Quran explicitly states that it is complete & perfect, we have no obligation to follow the Hadith.

So there ya go. I could have used your help earlier when another member was trying to tell me "what Muslims believe". Being that he is a Christian you can imagine it didn't look so good for the Muslims but the Christians sure came off looking good.

Being that I'm neither and have somewhat of a dislike for Religious Fundamentalism all around I tried to point out how similar both religions are in certain ways and how neither members of either side should be claiming anything about the other.

Yeah I was charging my phone and missed the threads most active moments.

But I don't discuss Christianity on these boards anyways, because it's none of my business.
If I refer to Christianity it's always in "inverted commas" just to show I don't actually think of these people as Christian.

Surely you must know, if you're willing to levy the charge that I don't think for myself on the matter. I'm kinda curious myself.
