Ok. So number 1 we're good.

Number 2. Do you mean the greatest threat to our Western Values here in the US or those same values in the ME???

Because I'd say those values are obviously threatened in the ME. Here in the US I don't see Islam as much of a threat at all in destroying those values. Islam is a area to keep an eye on I guess but I think those values are threatened much more from our own internal factions and corrupt institutions than an outside group like radical Muslims.

For something like that to take hold here would require a change in culture and mindset that isn't even possible to such an extent here. People here lose their minds being told they should eat less sugar so there is no way Radical Islam has a chance of getting much traction here.

Communists used to think the same way, until they tried to enforce it. We cannot take religion away from people. It sounds good in theory—at least to card carrying atheists—but it fails in practice.

I never said we could take religions away from people.

Religions are still a menace to humanity. Islam is not any worse than Christianity or any other religion.

According to the Qur’an, there is no such thing as moderate Islam.

Jihad is an obligation for every Muslim on earth.

Muslim apologists assure us that Islam is a peaceful religion but history has demonstrated otherwise.

Islam has one goal and one goal alone: to assimilate or to destroy.

And according to the Bible there is no such thing as moderate Christianity..really??.. Onward Christian soldier really??
C'mon man . one can post any vid to make a point.

Actually the Bible never mentions Christianity.

Not sure what you are on about.

When the vocal Christians stop attempting to paint all Muslims as the same as terrorist fundamentalists and stop helping spread the fear I will stop sticking up for people I know and love.
Not sticking up for Islam (as bad as any religion) but the people.
Stop being so afraid Christians and stop attempting to make others afraid.
Why are you all so afraid?.

You seem to be afraid that Christians are trying to paint Islam in a bad light.

The fact is , most of us are NOT Christians and we despise all religions equally as every last one of them are shills at the least.

Those that speak as you, are usually the most fearful people I meet, you just have not truly found the source of your fears yet.......

I mean western values in general, but particularly in the west—the americas and Europe.

I agree. I don't think any caliphate will catch on in the west, but I also don't that won't stop them from trying. If apostates can leave without fearing retaliation, if homosexuals can be homosexuals without fearing retaliation, and honor killings are not only illegal, but also frowned upon by the majority of people, Islam is quite at home in the west. Muslims who are westerners first and muslims second thrive like any other minority. But looking at the successful and failed terrorist attempts in the US, the majority of which are from radical Muslims, where Muslims only represent .8 of the population, there is still this issue of anti-western sentiment.

I don't know if I agree with this yet, but the argument of David Horowitz that the Muslims and the Left (some, not all, for those that like to think in generalizations) are two-pees in a pod because they both share anti-west sentiment, is quite compelling.

It is also true that Muslims should denounce those that perform atrocities in the name of Islam... and here in lies the difference in the state of global affairs.

Many do, many die for it, many flee their homelands either because they have done so or they wish to do so without threat of life. Many try to overthrow their own Theological governments, many attempt to take part in cultural revolutions. I can only imagine that it becomes infinitely harder trying to avoid your own government while dodging bombs and bullets from Western military's.

Can you tell me where the Left doesn't criticize the Taliban, Saudi Arabia, Iranian Theocracy?

Can you tell me what we are supposed to do to promote equality in foreign countries? Support bombing them? See above.

Can you tell me how rejecting hatred of Islam equates to condoning inequality?

We live in a complex world, either/or thinking is far too simple.

And yet you display either or thinking in all of your posts on this site.

Facepalms all around.

Even now you have all these broad criticisms of "Christians", but you feel the need to defend Islam against criticism.

That's quite a generalisation of BoyMonkey's position. Oh wait, you're wilfully misunderstanding his position and justifying your own. Never mind!

Are you kidding ??

Even BoyMonkey will tell you that his position is exactly that.

It absolutely is. Islam is the only religion at war with every other religion on Earth and non-believers alike. How many people do you hear saying "I'm worried about those radical Buddhists and Christians", besides conspiracy theorists of course?

Christianity is at war with every other religion on Earth.

The difference?

It's members are usually more well-off and well-connected, with more of them living in 1st world countries. Their "war" can take a totally different approach and appear much more pure and innocent.

"We're just trying to convert you by bribing you with food and water..."

Make no mistake, it's the duty of Christians to convert and carry the "Good News" to everyone. They have as much skin in this game as anyone else.

It certainly isn't a Muslim canvasing my neighborhood at 9 AM on Sunday, knocking on doors and trying get new recruits.

A war is a war, it doesn't matter ideologically what the weapons are. Christianity is hell-bent on becoming the dominant religion on Earth.

Well you have to consider the history of Christianity and it's influence here in America. There's plenty to worry about.

Not many. About as many people as I run in to in my daily business that are worried about radical Islamists.

In fact, the only people I think I know that are scared of radical Muslims are chicken# internet know-it-alls.

(That statement is not necessarily directed towards you)

There is a difference between actual wars and imaginary wars. Show me evidence of this war.

Last week liberals were really just facists in disguise, this week we are Isis hugging jihadi sympathisers. Why are conservatives so bent out of shape at the moment.

Conservatives bent out of shape ???

Not sure, but I bet a whole lot of the people you paint with a left or right brush exist in neither, perhaps that is why you are getting push back now.

You are getting flack from REAL liberals and REAL conservatives, not the fake apologist style ones that you are so fascinated and associating yourselves with, and attacking.

Get this, none of your paradigms are true and correct, it is YOU who are sliding down an unending hill, into the bliss you so badly want!

I'd say a history of the Christian church is ample proof.

Conversion is conversion. You side stepped the entire issue. Wars don't have to be fought with bombs and guns to be a war...

So are you ready to accept that you are more like the Christians who have converted the West, and that Muslims wish to take you into another realm ???

I get it that you believe you know all the evils out there, and that Islam maybe needs exploration to take us all beyond what we have now....

You really ready to go down that road, it is easy to see , that rebellion against Christianity brings all the inconveniences in modern America to its knees!!!!

Islam will help us defeat the evil hold of Christianity, and then somehow we will defeat Islam and everything will be better!
