Oh no, I didn't even think of that. I hope he's ok? I know he likes music, I've seen him post on music threads before.
Now I'm worried.

Mmm.. This thread is speakin' my language.

A lot of the mainstream stuff has been listed so far, so I'll go with others. Also, not going to post the actual videos here, just the links if you feel like crying.

1. Jonathan Coulton: When You Go

2. Jose Suicidio: Help Me

3. The Mountain Goats: No Children

4. The Dears: 22' The Death of All the Romance
The video to this will make me cry every single time.

5. Amanda Palmer & the Jane Austen Argument: Bad Wine and Lemon Cake

I don't think this group makes anything othehr than sad, dark music. Plus the song title is one of the best ever:

Hungry Ghosts - I don't think about you any more, but I dont think about you any less.

Obviously, you can't go past Johnny Cash's song 'Hurt'... If we are talking depressing songs.

its not his song, he only covered it, "hurt" is a Nineinchnails song

I am fine. Sorry, I could not make it back before. Very kind of you to be so considerate.

Never worry about me. I have been through hell several times over. I am very tough and have a very stubborn indeed survival instinct, even to my own annoyance sometimes, lol.

I have a dry sense of humour and I wanted to know some of the music that people knew about that reflected the more desolate side of our emotions. I am a music artist and it is a little study you have all helped me with big time. I am very thankful. I wish you all a very HAPPY 2016. I will play through all these songs for sure as it is a study and it will be helpful to my own creativity perhaps. It is great to see all this diversity. Thanks so much.

Here is a little out of place gift for you, lol!

Hah! The 21st century has reached the age of consent. Yea! Time fotr some fun, yes, yes, yes!

Hey, all is great. Just havin' some dry fun!

Bless for thinking about me. Happy sweet sixteen to you
.

Thanks for all your contributions. I will play through all these.

Hey!
That's a relief.

It's strange worrying about someone you know, but don't know. My neurosis managed it though.

Hope you enjoy the tunes.

The cure, the whole grey album, top depressive song of all of the cure (and that means a lot).
I love dark, dark music. But this track i could not listen to for years. Massive trigger warning!!

Completely different music style, but depressing as hell (the lyrics)

And one track which is very sad but still beautiful: Love me to the end by Deine Lakaien

Sadness mixed with despreration: "Also doch" by Falco

Plus about 2 thirds of my vinyl collections from the 80ies/90ies

Happy depressions everyone.
