The whole Bernie vs Hillary data view thing, is interesting. what kind of data did he take? Did The Bern take credit card info? Everything else should be public records. Name, addresses, donation amounts....but if there were credit card numbers with the donations.

""Did Bernie Sanders take credit card info?""

That would be a real berner wouldn't it.

It seems the systems in place were very insecure as it is, and never really secure at all.

Anybody who has ever "donated" needs to cancel the cards and get new numbers.

The whole thing is a giant boondoggle.

The bigger threat would be from outside attacks.

*Sigh* first of all he didn't "take" anything and a simple Google search would tell you that. The information accessed was reported to be information regarding her supporters such as who is for sure going to vote for her and who might be waivering. The information was viewed not downloaded or extracted minus a sheet of summary information which would include general numbers not personal info. Perhaps you should do some reading.

Sander's also immediately fired the staff member who accessed the data. He was completely open about the entire data breach and tried to settle it with the DNC. The DNC's support for Hillary decided to make it public to dirty Sanders campaign. The data wasn't fire walled and was easily accessible. It's why Sanders has filed a suit against the DNC.

The breach wasn't under Sanders direction nor did he have knowledge of it at the time. It's why he fired the staffer.

Politics, it's a dirty business.

According to anyone who isn't speculating based on nothing. But that's what you're all about, right?

Actually, I'd be MORE concerned that Hillary Clinton had my credit card on file in the first place.

Those unauthorized donations to the Clinton Foundation on your statement might be a bad thing.

According to reports there were 4 accounts used to access this info, so 1 out of 4 scapegoats got fired..

They fired the head of the dept. who openly stated that it was his directive that led to the intentional breach.

They also stated that others may be fired and/or disciplined depending on what their investigation turns up.

Actually, the Sanders campaign did nothing wrong intentionally.
I'd say this shows more how Hilary doesn't care or understand about securing data, than any wrong doing from the other side.

In other words, others may be fired if this doesn't die down and go away quickly.

Their investigation stalled because the DNC cut their access to the data. Now that its back Sanders can continue investigating

If anyone gets an email from the Bernie campaign saying that they need to transfer 20 million and would pay you 2 million, and all you need to do is give him your bank info, I'd think twice.

I've yet to see any information, past or present, that would indicate to any degree Bernie would involve himself in any such activity.

However, the other side, now that's questionable.

It's my understanding that this affected the data of all 3 campaigns.

It's also my understanding that both, the Sanders & O'Malley campaigns had complained to the DNC about it prior to this recent reoccurrence.

According to them, the DNC wasn't doing anything to correct the problem despite their repeated complaints.

So this isn't the first time it happened and what I haven't heard is whether or not the Clinton campaign had complained about it prior to this incident.

If not, WHY NOT?

IMO, the entire system where all campaigns utilize the same database is set up so that it can be easily manipulated and/or corrupted.

It's tantamount to having multiple competing corporations store and access their proprietary information on a single computer or database.

Why wouldn't the DNC just give a copy of their voter database to all qualified campaigns in the beginning and let each of them maintain their own records, on their own systems, with their own protections?

Just think about it.....It's like it was designed to be corrupted.

Of course it was designed to be corrupted. Look at how the CEO of the firm that set it up worked for Clinton.

Yeah well people Sanders is a 'democratic' socialist. Everyone knows it.

And THAT does mean individual rights don't mean anything.

Everything belongs to collectivists. Even your information.

Sander is Guilty.

Fallon also added in a statement on Friday afternoon, “We were informed that our proprietary data was breached by Sanders campaign staff in 25 searches by four different accounts and that this data was saved into the Sanders' campaign account. We are asking that the Sanders campaign and the DNC work expeditiously to ensure that our data is not in the Sanders campaign's account and that the Sanders campaign only have access to their own data.”

Google search turned this up LAST NITE that some of these folks read, and some IGNORED.

www.politico.com...

Because for some odd reason they think there is such a thing as an 'honest' politician.
