Okay, I missed that other reply. I get you now. The slash thing isn't showing. Himher. Like that.
ETA: That's odd. It happened to me, too. Try using the slash on the same key as the question mark. / That one. Him/her

ETA again: Yep, that works. Try that.

It might be a coding glitch or maybe something that's blocked out for some reason. Some people have trouble typing the word "windows". I'd use that other slash. Problem solved?

I wish I could give you cookies for being patient enough to help in this thread! Awesome job.

By the way, it is only if you put a . After the word window that it acts crazy. Happens to everyone. Put a space between window and . And everything is fine.

Damn. You're right. I wrote window . with out the space between window and the period...and it registered as a 'dash'.
Learned something new.

It's cool. I could tell that your were frustrated. Helpful hint: cussing here will get you a warning or maybe banned, even if you just leave on letter out.

I started a thread about that a while back and someone was nice enough to explain it to me.

Credit for this goes to EvillerBob

If you write certain types of code such as javascript - which this site uses - some words have very specific meanings. The word "window" followed by a period is used to send commands to the browser window.

To limit the risk of people trying to do any fancy hacking on the site, the system automatically replaces some combinations to prevent them being seen as commands. Thus, you cannot type a sentence ending in the word window.
