Holy smokes people. I sure hope Yiannopoulous is wrong. Really WRONG. I am sick to death of Star Wars but this critique is something else to read. Maybe they are just letting their bias cloud their common sense. Maybe they just woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day. Maybe someone peed in his wheaties.

I sure don't know. Say it aint so Froto!

THE REBEL ALLIANCE The Alliance is a ragtag band of fighters from many different cultures bonded together by a hatred of the Empire, fighting an asymmetric war resulting in massive collateral damage and loss of civilian life. They take their lead from mystics hiding in caves and swamps, and want to return the galaxy to a primitive religion that hasn’t changed for 600 years. That’s right nerds: the Rebel Alliance is ISIS.

Start Wars is garbage. Oh no you didnta!

It just may be the case after all Battle Star Galactica entire storyline was ripped from the news headlines of the presidency of George Bush.

Hollywood wouldn't dare make a horrible film, like EVER.

And the with the wave of master jedi neo's hand.

This is not the film your looking for.

May the force be with you.

Maybe he would have liked it better if Luke walked on water and fed Han and Chewie with some fish after knocking over the Empire's money tables.

Considering the prequels are complete trash and most movies that come out these days are complete trash, it's not hard to believe that Star Wars is trash.

Hmmm, im not sure; I'm thinking will give this movie a shot, and it doesn't seem much further from the original story. My father waited in huge lines to see the early star wars, and took me to see them when they played again in the 90s, and i will take my kids and at least give this a shot. All movies are by nature political/agenda filled, they are an art after all. If it really is as described then ill be seriously disappointed

Actually, if you read the Terra Papers by Robert Morningsky (Hopi) - - - you'll know Star Wars.

Even Princess Leia's hair style. Hopi: Lotus or Squash Blossom:

There's a bit of difference between the rebel alliance, the jedi, and the empire. The Jedi and the rebel alliance are not out to rule peoples lives, and impose their religion on everyone. They aren't even close to IS. The empire on the other hand...

Hard to make it through the entire review when the second paragraph says:

If we’re honest with ourselves, the real wretched hive of scum and villainy is Skywalker Ranch, where George Lucas and his band of morally dissolute bastards created the Star Wars universe, a blight on western civilisation and culture.

Maybe if Han Solo was fighting to rid the Empire of abortion rights and restore Jesus Jedi and the one true faith, while fighting those evil gay aliens or something, maybe it would have worked for them? Idk...

Anyone who does a movie review and injects "Liberal/Conservative" into it, in any way, shape or form, should not have a public opinion on movies, or at least not one that is taken seriously.

Edit: After looking over it a bit more this seems to just be a gripe on Star Wars, more than anything. Does it even have anything to do with the new movie?

Agree 100% just another completely irrelevant piece of trash shoved down your throat everywhere you turn to keep your mind off of much more important matters...if only people invested as much energy into something meaningful as they do in this garbage or any other forms entertainment for that matter ...if only..

Probably more to do with jealousy that the critic is not making the big bucks.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

Of course the world has changed a little since the first movie came out in 1977.

"You rebel scum."

I find people acting like I kicked their puppy disturbing.

People shouldn't put movies up on a pedestal.

I have no doubt it is.

For me, Star Wars is 'New Hope', 'Empire' and 'Jedi'. Full stop. ALL other prequels and sequels only detract from my enjoyment of those three core original films. They're more than enough.

Someone realized there's infinite money to be made if they just keep expanding the franchise and that is unfortunate imo.

As the Dude would say, "That's just like, your opinion, man."
The Op reminds me of this scene from Clerks 2:
Warning, language.

Everybody is a certified film critic, but the Box Office Rules. If it succeeds at the Box Office, nobody cares whether some dimwits living in their Moms' basements think the movie is crap. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank. So here's a tip. If you think it's crap, don't go see it. Problem solved.
