Hi to the ATS community from Draiocht

So I made my first five posts and the new topic button appeared.

Time to say "Hi" to you all.

I am still finding my way around the wonderful variety of forums here on ATS. So far it's the political and current affairs areas that have occupied my attention.

I have been asking questions and reading books since I was small. I can remember the Vietnam War on the TV news. My family were kind of political, so it was explained to me that the people who made money from the war didn't want peace. Forty years later I'm still asking questions and people are still making money from wars.

Despite all the darkness that is so easy to find I am a hopeful and positive person. I try to repay all the good people who helped and taught me by "paying it forward".

Hello! Nice to have a new member introducing themselves.

This is a good place to ask questions and find resources for conducting research.

There are also always going to be members/commenters who have a different point of view than yourself, so don't take it to heart when someone's comment gets you fired up or is completely ignorant. Of course there are plenty of great participants too, but I just wanted to give you that disclaimer in advance. And I will leave you with this (food4thought):

flammadraco "Draoicht" is because my first choice is already taken. It is an ancient Irish word to describe the work of "druids" and is probably best understood as "in harmony with nature" rather than the simplistic "magic" translation.
