It's interesting that you don't even mention the candidate with the most sensible foreign policy, tax plan, and domestic policy - not to mention the most consistent and principled voting history and strongest champion of liberty..

I think this happened to his dad the past couple of election years too.

You talkin about Deez Nutz?

SO MUCH TO COMMENT ABOUT, NEED TO REPLY TO EVERYTHING

I don't even like the guy whatsoever, and yet I can tell you he's the only interesting candidate running for president.
. . ( cant agree more that’s why I like him))

Carson, who has second place behind Trump in most polls, is much too unenthusiastic and frankly ignorant to be an effective president. Text. ( BORING to LISTEN TO “Get To The point Carson”)

Hillary, even though she's on my side of the political spectrum, leans a little too close to business interests and just doesn't seem that different from Obama in terms of perspective. Not to mention it seems everything she says has been carefully coached from her advisors. Text. ( Really a little Close to Business interest, how about the savings and loan scandal with her husband and oh they are poor and have not money. BS)

Sanders, who I would pick if he was actually going to win the Democratic nomination, is too clutzy and government-friendly. The only crowd he has a lead on are college kids.Text(ANOTHER REALLY, he is a full blown Socialist, and looks like he crawled out from under a rock)

If Trump wasn't running for president, this would be hands down the most unbearably boring election in U.S. history. No one would go to the polls because the candidates seem like they've been cut out with a cookie cutter. Text. (That’s right he is not a politician nor a Lawyer)

But if Trump becomes president, it would be a disaster. Our country would essentially roll back years of cultural progress towards becoming a respectably tolerant nation. The same thing with Carson, except even worse as he's terrible at foreign policy and is a one-man gaffe machine. Hillary would basically change nothing as, like I said before, she pretty much as the same brain as Obama's. Hillary's situation would be the same for a President Sanders, except even less would get done due to his extremism. Cultural progress and respectable nation, is not what I would say, As I see it we are a bunch of Politically correct, lets rename Christmas to happy holidays, oh we don't want to offended anyone so lets take the Christmas tree down, Those that choose to come to this country need to respect our Culture first, Many have done it in the past and have done well.

Overall, this is a disappointing election. But what's most disappointing is the fact that a sizeable chunk of America is eating up Trump's bullcrap hook-line-and sinker. No hook line and Sinker her, Just tired of the Politian's and Lawyers, Tired of the government telling me to have medical coverage, how to eat, paying taxes, or social security and not having a chance to live my life free of government BS.

I'm starting to think we're all just stupid ducks, following our duck mother in a line, while she's leading us towards the abyss. ( Reminds me of a movie, "The American Presidents" "don't fall in the trap Democrats are full of crap"

I am confused as to why this thread is allowed to stand.

It's GLP/LOP "im gonna troll the admins/members with my thread tittle that's a mockery of theirs" attitude should be the 1st indicator of the things we are "better than" on ATS

Trump, is a chump. As a outsider it's baffles the mind how THAT could be considered a leader of America, yet alone actually be leading in the polls.. what the hell are you smoking???

I'd rather console myself in the warm fuzzy feeling that it won't get to that, we won't get to 2016.. that's kinda scary how i need to envision world decimation in order to avert "president trump - POTUS"

but hey.. if you trust that walking windbag to "change" anything, or if he inspires "hope" in you... we really have nothing to discuss.

The worlds forehead is a giant welt from all the epic facepalms directed squarely at America.. please.. get your crap together it's getting to the point where we need to call in your grandma and uncle bob and have a sit-down talk about your addiction to chaos.

No, they're not, and if you believe that, you're the duck. Nobody is serious at this point, and Trump is not electable and won't get the nomination. People are just playing with Trump, with the pollsters, and with you.

YOU are the one who is taking this hook, line, and sinker because you actually believe it.

When it gets down to actually choosing delegates, Trump will sink without a ripple. He's already sinking in any legitimate poll, and the further down he goes the more outrageous he is becoming, which gives him yet more air time. Both far left wing Democrats like McDermott (D-WA) and right wing Republicans like Ryan (R-WI and Speaker) are condemning Trump with exactly the same language.

Really, if you believe Trump has any chance at all, you're delusional.

Vote for Bernie in the primary, you literally have nothing to lose by doing so... if you don't vote for him, Hillary wins the nomination for sure, if you vote for him just maybe he gets the nomination and if not... Hillary still wins the primary. Plus Bernie absolutely can beat any of the GOP'ers.

Running for president of the United States is starting to look like a circus. We keep on getting too many incompetent and unqualified people running for POTUS. What's really ridiculous is the incompetent and unqualified candidates always get more attention!

I don't believe he'll win the presidency. Trump is a horrible person. He would ruin our country. I don't believe anything he's saying and what I meant by "Sizeable chunk" is "A lot of people than should be possible", but not relative to the population of the U.S.

So what are the qualifications that we the people should be looking for?

Should it be?

A career politician
A Lawyer
A lobbyist
Some one that tells you what you want to hear
Someone that wants to better themselves more than helping the nation
Someone with their own Political agenda to benefit themselves or a group of people
Someone that want everyone else to pay for all those free benefits
or someone that don't give a rats but about the poor but talks a mean stories
Someone that has a history of Lying about past events

What are the criteria that you are looking for what are the qualifications? Hell all of us on ATS could be president but what are we looking for in a future president?

Except Bernie is just as bad as Hilary...just different. Hilary is a true criminal, while Sander's wants to use the power of a bloated Government to legally steal your money.

Stop pretending Bernie is a good candidate. He is so left-wing he makes Obama look like a moderate.

Everyone has completely forgot about good ol rand, thats true. He gets virtually NO airtime, just as they did to Ron. He's not his father, but hes closer to him than any other candidate.

Rand would be the establishments worst nightmare. Perhaps he would seem more 'interesting' if people listened to him instead of being so glued to Trump. Maybe it's on purpose? People are easily amused and distracted. Nothing would surprise me anymore. American politics suck ass, America went away a long time ago.

I agree, but for some reason Americans would rather have talk show hosts and be 'entertained' rather than aspire for real and desperately needed leadership.

How do you think Obama got elected? It's a huge joke and the house of cards needs to come crashing down, so the grown ups can finally rebuild this mess.

You keep saying "He'll ruin the country".

What part of our country is not already ruined? Everything is broken, all numbers are manipulated in regard to government reports, tens of millions of people are unemployed with no hope of gainful recovery, manufacturing continues to tank, and the nation is being flooded with people who will undercut everybody who's interests are truly vested in this country being successful.

It really doesn't matter who wins to me. I do enjoy the show.

When Obama hands over the reigns to whatever poor sap gets the nod, it will be like a Chris Farley and David Spade skit. The door falls off the damn thing, and Farley says "Wha'd you do?"

Politics is a pendulum. Push it too far one way and it swings back hard the other.

This is what 8 years of runaway progressivism buys you.

You seriously think Obama has represented runaway progressivisim? On policy Obama has been to the right of Reagan.

Perhaps that's because Obama actually is a moderate. Politically he's center right as is Hillary. Sanders isn't even all that far left to be honest unless you're judging by the scale of American politics rather than global. By American standards Bernie is left but by global standards he's pretty much center. America is just extremely far to the right.

If Donald Trump ever became US president, nobody could ever blame anyone for NOT following American foreign policy ever again, think about that for a moment.

Going the way of the 'world' isn't the answer, even though some people would like to think places like Europe is some kind of utopia, but from where I'm sitting, it seems much of Europe is heading south, fast.

Socialist, 'Progressive', and multicultural ideals have bit many countries in the ass, which is why a lot of Americans want nothing to do with that particular 'trend'. Socialism is not what people like bernie try to sell it as.

I dont care how interesting a candidate is

This isnt reality TV this is a country and the future of ourselves and our children.......

I could give 2 shts if you are as interesting as a doorknob

if you uphold our constitution INCLUDING IN YOUR POLICY

Your not a fascist, or monarch

And have strong foriegn policy , then we can talk....

People need to wake the hell up and stop treating this like a freaking gameshow....

For that to happen you need a general populace that is educated somewhere other than TV land

If they're going south, then why do high tax nations that incorporate elements of socialism like Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, and Finland all rate higher than the US in quality of life?

And the reason socialism isn't what someone like Bernie tries to sell it as is because Bernie isn't that type of socialist. He's a Democratic Socialist, and there's a pretty big difference between the two.

Sweden is a great example. Go to google and type 'sweden will be a third world country soon'. There's been threads on it here even. Sweden cannot sustain their 'utopia' for much longer, not to mention the fact that leaders in their own govt have stated that sweden has no unique culture anymore, its beyond extreme.

Socialism is a nice pipe dream until entire cultures get overtaken by immigrants unwilling to assimilate, nor contribute in any meaningful way and expect handouts to the point where there are no longer any viable ways to sustain such a 'utopia'. It just doesn't work, and it's been proven over and over.

Everyone should be watching Sweden, as they are a prime recent example as to why socialism completely fails.
