First off, its not for me to come up with a plan, better or otherwise.
I'm not feigning anything; my way of life and my daughter who's a single mom with three kids way of life would be destroyed by this particular plan! When you live at street level you actually see the damage these ill conceived plans do!

You want a better plan, how about this! Go ahead......double the electric bills to consumers but hand the bills for those who live at or below the real poverty line to the 1%ers living in the lap of luxury in the Hamptons to be paid! They can afford it and they presently don't contribute much of anything anyway!

You're right. They don't give a darn. This is all about polishing their credentials as environmentalists with the political elites of the world. For Obama its about his "legacy". Its all a horrid joke and as usual, the little people get the bill!

We will all be homeless...or close to it.

Coal country of West Virginia has taken the brunt of the early salvos of Obama's energy policies. In some WV counties unemployment is at 53%! Dozens of Rust Belt coal fired plants have been shuttered. Electric bills have risen dramatically in the mid Atlantic region. Coal technology has been made clean, but that doesn't fit into a (failed) a Solyndraesque driven energy plan (cronie capitalism gone green!)...but rather look at the failures (and risks--the electric grid is being stretched due to the closed coal fired generation plants) Obama forges aged with MORE draconian cuts to "emissions."

How many people will die from cold (or heat) with an extended black out I winter or summer? How many will take I'll because of rolling brown outs causing interruptions of refeidgeration? Those are IMMEDIATE concerns.

Rather than fly tens of thousands of politicians, their aides and support staff (the average round trip mileage for a COP21 attendee was NINE THOUSAND miles of air travel) why didn't they teleconference? (No sweet legacy building g photo ops or political posturing that way--just entitled 1%ers telling the rest how we WILL live). Why isn't the plan to save humanity to bring clean power (nuclear!) to the third world instead of RETURNING those countries who have advanced their infrastructures to First World standards BACK to Third World status?

Toss in the predictable, cyclical Solar Minimum we are entering (to buy into the politics of AGW/Climate Change you have to totally discount the sun's impact on earths weather) and the insanity of political treaties to CONTROL climate is laughable.

And lastly, and nothing shows the gullibility of the masses more than the acceptance of the proclamation "the science is settled!" NO SCIENCE IS EVER SETTLED--questioning, postulating, theorizing of future scientific discoveries on climate CANNOT occur becuase to question, postulate, theorize is to be a "DENIER" and THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED.0

Fine. Then talk to your politicians or people you think SHOULD be coming up with a plan and tell them to do so. Instead those politicians are still trying to deny the science is real instead of coming up with alternative solutions to climate change from the Democrats' solutions.

Just for the record. I'm not saying this. You are.

Lets not forget im sure this whole thing will go just swimmingly

I suppose we forgot about how well the Obama care thing went? Its been a huge disaster

Yet people like the OP keep championing his programs, when just about every one has not only been a flop, its cost people way more money, brought DOWN their quality of life, and did NOTHING it said they would....

Its madness to keep promoting anything Obama is pushing, his failures far outweigh his successes and frankly, people are tired of being at the receiving end of it

You are the first person in this thread who has said the phrase "the science is settled". Also, you are more than welcome to actually show me where the science isn't settled and actually dispute it.

I'm not completely buying what they've been selling on climate change, but setting that aside for a moment, solving that one major sticking point I have is a relatively easy one. They could subsidize the energy costs of low wage earners. Of course, that's not likely to happen for a variety of reasons, but without an offset to the costs incurred by the working poor, its an immediate no-go for me regardless of the implications for climate change.

Along those same lines, but more difficult to control, if we're going to pass this 'for the good of the world', the people pushing this at the top should derive no profit from it. I sure as hell don't want to see these damned politicians getting rich off this, yet I strongly suspect that many of them will.

tell you what....when I see those millionaire and billionaire fossil fuel executives move themselves and their family, close and downwind to those coal-fired power plants, I'll believe we DO NOT have a problem...until then, forget it....by the way, all you ATS'ers, that think there is nothing wrong with burning fossil fuels, you should do the same....in other words, put your money where your mouth is, and you and your own kids, go and live next door to one of those power plants....

What did I tell you man? You're not going to get a reasonable debate based on current evidence and logic.

To many this entire topic is a grand conspiracy. Add Obama and politics to it and all common sense and reason is lost.

I'd be ok with this plan, but that plan is Socialist in nature and I'm ok with Socialism. By the way, I started out my time at ATS unsure about Climate Change, but after looking at all the evidence, I can't deny it anymore.

In a perfect world, yes, but we don't live in a perfect world. You just gotta work with what you got.

You keep asking everyone this as if it somehow justifies Obamas out of touch reality on this subject, it does not........its not up to me to come up with solutions, im not a head of state

And we have far more pressing issues at the moment to worry about.....

The man stood in the very city where ISIS massacred people and is STILL currently attacking, and tried to tell everyone how CLIMATE CHANGE is a bigger threat, how much more disrespectful, wrong, and disconnected can you get?

When our dollar finally collapses , when our system is over whelmed, and when the streets fill even more with the results there of, as groups like ISIS continue to spread and kill and destroy

I guarantee you we wont have the infrastructure or the MONEY to do any of these proposed Ideas by bonehead Obama

Cloward and Piven, OVERWHELM THE SYSTEM

Thats his goal and thats what hes doing....step by step

Seeing this title. Wow. If you want to see "crest-fallen". If we don't get rid of this stupid-ass Congress we are not going to recognize our country in ten years. We are going back in time... further, further until *poof*, everyone believes the flat Earth sits on the back of a giant turtle. I'm ashamed at how the *small fries* have permitted BIG OIL to convince them we don't have a problem.

They really should be sending you guys a check, yet you do their bidding for free.

President Obama, both in Paris and in dozens of his "the real threat to the world is Climate Change" speeches has EMPATHICALLY stated "the science is settled."

The bigger question is WHY is Obama permitted to continually state this and NOT be questioned about it? Could it be the game is rigged and ANY questioner gets the Scarlet D (Denier!) lable?

The "control the masses" game is rigged right down to the language (denier!!!)

So let me get this straight. Obama, a head of state is trying to push a solution to climate change, but that's not good enough, but then when I ask you for an alternative solution you tell me you aren't qualified to make that decision because you aren't a head of state.

ISIS is still attacking Paris? How are they doing that exactly? But really, Climate Change IS a bigger threat. And by the way, Paris and France in total agrees with Obama on that opinion.

When our dollar finally collapses , when our system is over whelmed, and when the streets fill even more with the results there of, as groups like ISIS continue to spread and kill and destroy

This argument makes no sense... ISIS is overwhelming the system? What?
