Ted Cruz says there is no ‘war on women’ because we don’t have a condom shortage

I, too, find late-term abortion repugnant.
Just to make that clear.

I don't think that's the main issue being argued here (an a national level), though.
There are too many people foaming at the mouth about first-trimester abortions, and birth control use. Very, very few people would endorse third-trimester or so-called 'partial-birth' abortion. I agree that is barbaric.

But, if a zygote is terminated using birth control (which, you might know - the pill is also formulated to prevent implantation of the fertilized egg - the pill 'tweaks' the hormones so that the uterus behaves as it would if it were already pregnant and thus would reject another implantation), or a pea-sized embryo is terminated - that is not "murder."

And PP does not "sell" baby parts. You do know that, right? You know that those videos were contrived, edited nonsense, right?

I do agree with you on the rest of your post, and am right in line with you on all the above

I do not agree with the PP videos though, Ive watched almost every single one of them at full length and still believe what they did in the late term abortions and how they went about doing what they were doing was monstrous

On that point we will have to disagree

However on the rest im glad we have common ground

My initial intent however was to show how Cruz is a numbnutz and wouldn't hesitate to bring to the US his fathers theocracy and give all decision making to the state and church.

So you believe Obama did the same?

I am pretty sure Democrats are going to win anyway.

That's actually very good news. Glad to hear it.

Why should women have the right to choose which type of imperfect birth control they use? We're supposed to be a big government, low-freedom fascist nation, am I right? Or is that just what Ted Cruz wants?

There is only one thing that would scare me enough to vote for Hillary and that's if this psychopath gets on the ballot.
I can't think of anything worse than this completely hateful and uninformed asshat being the POTUS.

I would rather have W back for 16 more years than to even imagine what the world would be like under Cruz.

That's the plan. Hillary has already been selected to be the next POTUS. The only thing left to do is convince enough people to cast a ballot for her. If the popular vote is too different from the Electoral College selection, people might realize how little their vote really matters. Just like the last two elections, Republicans need to find a candidate so distasteful that conservatives stay home, while everyone else holds their noses and votes for Clinton, thinking she's the lesser of two evils.

Well, that's good to know. I, too, am very glad that we are able to discuss the issue without fangs and claws and gnashing of teeth

I just wish you could be disabused of thinking that PP sells baby parts.
Donating tissue for research is not "selling baby parts." The only remuneration is for the safe (complicated and high-tech) transportation to go to research facilities.

Ultimately what Cruz wants is for you to worship his God, make the Bible the guiding principal for all citizens and trash the constitution and live under a Christian Theocracy....You ok with that?

And not just anyone's interpretation of the Bible.....His Fathers interpretation is the ultimate authority

I've always maintained that it isn't entirely fair to edge a man out of the decision to get an abortion, but because the baby is ultimately carried in the woman's womb, she should get the deciding vote on the matter. I usually weight the opinion of the man at 40% and the woman at 60%.

Possession is nine-tenths of the law. That sounds callous - I know

When we're talking about a woman being pregnant it used to be true that she belonged to someone - and so did her offspring. No different from a horse or a sow or a chicken. This is about self determination

It's one of those subjects. I know people want for there to be a right or wrong answer that works in every situation. I think it comes down to the individuals if there is going to be any possibility of negotiation. Is there a relationship there or not?

Men have a right to be concerned - and to want a baby to continue. I absolutely do understand what many of them go through in these situations and how anguishing it must be

In the end a woman can't be forced to have a baby

ETA Krazy - I know you know this. I'm just thinking about this war on women - and how some politicians seem to think that they have a right to take away my right to be an individual. I won't even get into the hypocrisy involved in this kind of thinking

Despite Patel's claim that she gave birth to a stillborn child, prosecutors argued that Patel gave birth to a live fetus and charged her with child neglect. Prosecutors also claimed that Patel ordered abortion-inducing drugs online and tried to terminate her pregnancy, but a toxicology report failed to find evidence of any drugs in her system.

no, that was what the prosecutors claimed, but well, the toxicology report seems to not prove that does it?
and, well, when you get done trying to find the justification of this one case, there's hundreds more....
then we can start discussing the court ordered c-sections that have been happening in the country, because of health and welfare of the child, of course!!!

the far right isn't asking for equal rights for the fetus, they are asking that women's their basic rights be taken away for the sake of possible children.... one state has a law now that if any drug, even one that is prescribed by a doctor for a serious illness is believed to cause a miscarriage or harm a developing fetus, she can be prosecuted.... do you realize just how many drugs that might remove from the options women have now to treat their illensses? and since some medications can effect a fetus conceived months or years in advance, hey..... what can I say. so well, women are supposed to accept second class healthcare? when I was pregnant with my second and third child I was told that it wasn't wise to lift up my children, advice there was no way to pay attention to since the oldest only 2 and a half when my last one was born...so there would go my right to care for my children....for the sake of a fetus in my womb. I worked in a company where the toxins were so bad that birds would die in the place, had to work, since well, it was my income that provided my one son with his asthma medication, and the all with their school clothes and such.... so well, gee, working in that company would have been rather hazardous to any developing fetus I might have had so, ya, there goes my kid's rights to have school clothes, my son's right to be able to breath...
ya, right.... when they start prosecuting women for miscarriages, the remove so many rights it's insane!!!

Doctors have been telling men for years that smoking, drinking and recreational drugs can lower the quality of their sperm. What doctors should probably add is that the health of unborn children can be affected by what and how much men eat; the toxins they absorb; the traumas they endure; their poverty or powerlessness; and their age at the time of conception. In other words, what a man needs to know is that his life experience leaves biological traces on his children. Even more astonishingly, those children may pass those traces along to their children.

www.nytimes.com...

so, if trying to climb a flight of stairs and failing is reason to prosecute a women for endangering the life of their unborn..... what else can they find, if the rights of that fetus can trump a women's right to care for her children, or drive a car, or walk up and down stairs..... aren't we opening up both women AND MEN to a lifelong supervision of our actions and possible prosecutions for actions we took years before any pregnancy became a reality?

and ten to one, his father's interpretation includes the idea that women really don't have any business saying no to their husband sexual advances....or any say as to weather she has one child, or six children, or more even...
everything is left up to the husband's decision according to that bible he's touting.

The man who has repeatedly stood and called out Democrats and his own party of republicans for violating the constitution, has fought IN COURT to uphold the constitution even against th likes of George Bush

Is now intent to destroy the constitution?

I dont agree with everything Cruz says but pardon me if im skeptical that hes going to abandon his lifes work of not only voting IN FAVOR of the constitution even against his own party

In favor of your supposition against him

I dont understand the fear from the left of Christians

They can joke about condoms all they want. They have to in order to appear relevant and current in their thinking

In the end they give us every reason to believe, by their actions, words and attempts at legislation - that they mean to determine for women who we really belong to

Freedom for the individual above and beyond all else is what they always claim - as long as those individuals are men

Funny though many feel the same when people claim "Freedom Of choice" while taking the lives and choices away from unborn children

Again im pro choice, but I find the double edge sword people like yourself fall on and fail to account for fairly Ironic
