Ok i get it , gun traffickers aren't know for their morals or ethics .

Four assault rifles used in the deadly Paris attacks were allegedly purchased from a trafficker in Germany.

Now given the current threat of terrorism not just in Europe but worldwide why would he for one , sell not one but four automatic rifles to an " arab " in France . Its certainly not a place where automatic weapons are need on a daily basis .

Four emails on his smartphone show he sold "four Kalashnikovs assault rifles to an Arab in Paris", added the newspaper.

www.9news.com.au...
So in checking the facts i found this . Sure not the best source of all time . If you read further this man is not suspected of being a jihadist . But hey why let a headline go to waste .

Police arrest 'weapons dealer of Arabic descent' in Germany who is believed to have sold assault rifles to the Paris jihadists

It gets better .

Police say he is not a Jihadist but the suspicion remains as he was a lowly courier for Balkan arms dealers trading with radicals in the French capital - possibly even the murder gang behind the November 13 massacre.

But then goes on later to say .

The Bild report added: 'Now, the public prosecutor's office is acting against Sascha W. Not only for illegal arms trafficking, but also on suspicion of supporting a foreign terrorist association.

So terrorist or not , i know where i stand . The good thing is that he has been caught . But the scary thing is this .

Bild reported: 'Only two days ago police realised the true dimension of the illegal arms trade specialist when evaluating his phone.

They only just realised . Hmmmm scary indeed .

Ultimately, the trail will lead back to a former Soviet satellite like Romania. This will exacerbate tensions within the EU.

Fragile as it is, this may probably be the straw that broke the camels back for the EU.

The AK 47 gets everywhere in the world.

Though very Hollywood, this film is pretty bang on about the Arms Trade.

with the many guns being found crossing borders in Europe one could get the impression that hunting is alive and well ...

Isn't that a bit of an obvious statement?

Don't try and pin any guilt on me or my words! I have NEVER held a gun and will NEVER hold one. I am a pacifist. I have not even been in a fist fight since I was fifteen years old.

Sadly you have misinterpreted what i was saying , or i did with you . There was no offence meant . In fact i thought i was backing you up . Anyways its not about you of me , or flags for that matter . It is about bad people getting guns from bad people . And the authorities seem to be way behind the game .

It said he was targeted at the start of this year on suspicion of selling weaponry on illegal Internet platforms.

Yet he still sold guns to terrorists .

hahahahahaha!

You are missing the point Mister. The Authorities very often ARE the bad people!

If they don't want guns being traded no guns will be traded. If they want guns to be traded then they will be traded.

It is as easy as eating humble American Pie to shut down an arms factory on one's own soil if illegal sales occur. The point is that the authorities ALLOW it when it is in their interests.

Don't be naïve about this. Whether mafia or authorities, killing and murdering is the same act.

How many civilians have the U.S killed in the last ten years? # loads! How many arms have the U.S and UK traded this year?

www.theguardian.com...

"The top 100 list of arms-producing and military services companies in the world is dominated by North America and Western Europe although Chinese companies are not included in the rankings and data on Russian arms manufacturers is limited due to insufficient data."

"Sales from the 44 US-based companies featured accounted for over 60% of all arms sales by the top 100 producers in 2010, with Lockheed Martin topping the list at $35.7bn (£22.4bn) worth of arms sales in 2010. The Many Eyes below shows the top 100 companies by total arms sales.

The highly-concentrated industry is also highlighted by the report, which states that the top 10 arms producing companies account for 56% of the total top 100 arms sales. This amounts to $230bn of the total arms sales."

From the Data Summary of linked article.

"1 1 Lockheed Martin USA 35,730 33,430 78
2 2 BAE Systems UK 32,880 32,540 95
3 3 Boeing USA 31,360 32,300 49
4 4 Northrop Grumman USA 28,150 27,000 81"

The U.S and UK are the biggest arms dealers on Planet Earth. Let us be straight about this.

surely just coincidence that that's exactly what the new and stricter gun laws, suggested by the eu, mention:
reactivation of deactivated guns and online trade of guns shall ne banned.

this news come just a day after the petition against this eu madness achieved its 150.000 goal.
now they can say "see! our stricter laws are justified!"

but those points have never been an issue before.

eu politicians must be prophets.

Close , two guns were made in Yugoslavia , the others were Chinese .

This isn't actually very significant.

The Chinese Norinco rifle could have been made in the 1970s. Same with the Yugos.

There are tons of these rifles floating around that getting a hold of one is next to impossible not to do.

On a date with your girl friend? You decide to stay in for the night instead and order Chinese take out. The delivery man shows up with General Tso Chicken, steamed rice, and a free Norinco AK, they're like fortune cookies.

I am not sure i am missing the point . All the companies in your link are legal companies selling legal weapons to customers who i am sure are well vetted before the sale goes ahead . The point , well mine anyways was that the suspect selling guns was under suspicion at the beginning of the year . Plenty of time to shut him down or monitor him but yet again he has slipped through the fingers of the very people who are put in place to stop such things .

According to Bild the suspect was discovered by police to be involved in eight illegal arms deals between August 14 and November 18.
It is alleged he turned guns disabled for firing back into lethal weapons using parts he made himself.

Eight gun deals and we have seen the results of one of these deals . Perhaps he was buying disabled guns legally , who knows . But my point is , he was on the radar and slipped through .

Yes, Norinco produces some nice AKs. I always did enjoy the double hook trigger...

But the cool stuff we may get from Atlantic Firearms is not nearly as good as the stuff terrorists are getting.
