Yesterday, McInerney told Fox News – much to the surprise of the reporter interviewing him – that assuming the Turkish version of the flight path of the Russian jet is accurate, Russia wasn’t threatening Turkey, and that Turkey’s shoot down of the Russian jet “had to be pre-planned”, as the jet wasn’t in Turkish air space long enough for anything other than a premeditated attack to have brought it down:

A link to the video is forthcoming. It keeps crashing my browser so I need to post and come back to edit. Apologies.

Still working on video.

Ok here is the original source. Wow! He is very very candid.

Thanks guys!

From your link there was an additional quote:

"This airplane was not making any maneuvers to attack the territory. It was probably pressing the limits, that's fair. But you don't shoot 'em down just because of that," McInerney said.

I'd really like to see the video though.

More provocation tactics.
Obama and Cameron tried to tell the Russians not escalate this further and then McInerney makes that statement.
Won't be long before there's another incident like this.

Even if Turkeys version of events is correct, the aircraft was only in their airspace for a matter of seconds.

Of course they had it planned and were waiting for an excuse.

They were prepared and waiting on a hair trigger. They KNOW they were NOT a target.

As I say all the time, the world has lost its mind.

My guess is the jet was lining up to interdict a convoy of arms going across the border. The Russians aren't blind, they know where the stuff is coming into Syria.

The jet was warned off 10(?) times but since it was just doing its job it ignored the warning and got shot down.

A member of NATO, Turkey allows NATO jets to operate in and out of Syrian airspace, buys oil from terrs, bombs the Kurds that are fighting terrs, and shoots down Russians who are also fighting terrorists.

But Turkey is an ally so its okay.

One positive thing Turkey's actions have done is to allow Russia to (without protest) is to move in the S400 system and bring in as many other pieces of equipment to help protect the operations . The only thing left is tactical nuclear weapons and those may be floating off shore ....Putins next move is at the security council once he has all the evidence to show them ....check ....

Makes me sick.

Everything is upside down and backwards. Evil is good.
Then I get images of things like this.

The same witch who was involved with covering up the gun running from Benghazi through Turkey.

I never thought I would feel, as an American, that I was on the wrong side.

Not surprising, I imagine the the Turkish jet was on intercept long before the Russian entered their airspace.

Fighters will now be escorting bombers at all times, so doubt this will happen again.

I read somewhere that the jet was actually on its second pass on the target, not that it matters.

Maybe Turkey was acting on its own, but I doubt that very much.

Actually that is his opinion and in no way means it's the truth.

Maybe, But I'd guess his opinion is more valid than yours or other pro-terrorists here.

And if he was still in charge of "air defense" and told Obama his opinion?

It would be enough for war.

Hard to think that when that whole area is basically uncontrolled by Turkey and ruled by many different factions fighting. I agree it is still on Turkey, but one needs to understand what that area is really like. What gets me more is just that they were able to bring it down with some old AAA, doesn't look good for Russia either.
