People also use Breitbart, WND, YouTube and Rush Limbaugh for evidence, too. If you hold a position, you can find evidence of it on the Internet. The world is flat. The evidence is there.

It's almost impossible to prove anything, especially where the government is concerned, so sometimes the best we can do is cite evidence.

Wiki lists sources, so, if someone is interested in more solid evidence, they can go further. I use it for reference and evidence.

Wiki can be an OK source for things that are not controversial in any sense, and you'd be surprised at what might be controversial.

Wiki is also an OK jumping off point and general knowledge reference to get you started.

As far as a be-all, end-all link to shut up your opposition? No.

You are mistaken.

Evidence is not the same as proof.

This is how I think of it.

Evidence indicates a fact. Proof establishes it. While evidence CAN BE proof, and proof IS a piece of evidence, they are not exactly the same.
