So what is the mystery aircraft? The blacked-out portion of the document suggests the missing portion is five to seven characters long. With that in mind, the super secret RQ-170 Sentinel – a six character designation that would fit in the redacted segment – is one possibility.

...

Of course, the censored plane could be something entirely new. For decades, the Pentagon and the CIA have repeatedly acknowledged advanced aircraft projects — after the fact — only to decline to release any significant information about them.

link.

RQ-170? RQ-180? Something else? Let the speculation begin.

(I suspect its the 170, but you never know)

Sitting back and chuckling.

I'll tell you right now, it's not the RQ-170. The -170 has flown out of Guam, but it's not the redacted aircraft.

Probably a load of drunken USAF peeps trying to replicate the UP movie with Polaroids, the 50 crates of Bud and given no one could remember why the hell they were up in the air would give plausible deniability should something go wrong...why spend billions on a platform when beer will get you all the info you need and by the time they do land they'll be so hungover they won't even remember the mission so it'll stay well classified

I`ll wager its the the XX-XXa, only been confirmed since 2007 as being more than just an idea. Now the real $55,000 question is she the "green lady" or not? If not then life just became more exciting.

There has been more than one successor.

The XY-ZZy, not to be confused with the XY-ZZx which was just a prototype, and Xy-ZZz which is modified specially for the Navy?

Not sure of the legs on the X-47b but a high speed Green Girl would need a longer runway so bases are limited. All depending on range and aerial refuels that is..

There are currently 5 airframes that could match the document.
