The Mitsubishi MRJ is scheduled for first flight within the next few hours, pending weather. If anyone wants to watch, they're webcasting it.

More to follow after the flight.

That'll be after they arrive in the US and the real testing begins.

The weather is forecasted to be clear and 68°. Perfect first flight weather.

When she comes my way however, not so much.

Well that is at least part of the point though. Put her through everything they don't see much of in Japan while letting the US inspectors teach them the certification process, so glad to hear that.

I love when the stream crashes right before the flight....and then comes back after it's already airborne.

Yeah isn't that always fun? At least you got to try. I can't even connect with my current phone connection. If they had waited until tomorrow I would have been in a hotel room with a good connection.

Well I can't say that I'm impressed with the paint scheme on the actual aircraft...It detracts A LOT from the beautiful lines of the aircraft itself....just my opinion

Most manufacturer paint is less than impressive. Boeing is the exception, not the rule.

Five are coming to the US, probably early in 2016 for flight testing.

At least one of them should be coming my way in the next few months. I should be able to get some higher rez. shots then.

SkyWest just opened a huge new hangar in Boise for these. They have 100 firm on order with the option for 100 more. I believe they have almost 500 ordered. It's doing a lot better than most of its size.
