Why was my link to a file removed?

I noticed people posting links to files, so I posted a link to a torrent with a free EPUB file but it was removed. Why was it removed to the Trash Bin? Is it because I'm new here?

Copyright? Or maybe the torrent you linked to was also a site for illegal downloads. Mods always have a good reason, even if it's not obvious at the time.

For security and legal reasons torrents are not allowed.
