You don't want to know how i would go about change, and i'm not going to tell you...

Actually I think I can take it. However, that would probably be another thread entirely, so as you wish.

I wish you would make a thread about it sometime. I would like to hear your thoughts. We obviously DO need a makeover.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. Because I think it's pretty clear that he's not saying he wants the working class to go away, he's saying "let's see how you like it when I say the same type of stuff about your voters that you guys say about Muslims".

a reply to: xuenchen the burning down of refugee camps is driven by fascism, and to see a whole thread yesterday condoning the actions is driven by facist xenophobic media the rise of groups like pegida and golden dawn are fascism. I know you think fascism is something different and I'm not getting into that debate with you, because your wrong. I'm not taking part in this thread as I see where it's going. Some of us in the uk studied 20th century history so may have a different view from our American cousins as to what it constitutes, but we've seen enough of it in our history, to recognise it when it rears its head. We remember this Sunday our nations two wars over xenophobic and nationalistic ideologies that cost so many lives in the 20th I think we have a better view point than you in America even though I admit we couldn't have defeated it with out Americans, worth remembering. I certainly appreciate Americas sacrifice even if our European brothers conveniently forget as soon as they're faced with a humanitarian challenge. Anyway I bid you good day enjoy
Your the thread. It's obviously political correctness gone mad, when you can't burn down a refugee camp without the loony liberal left getting all offended over such actions. Political correctness gone mad I tell ya.

Sweden is quickly losing any moral high ground it may have built up over the years. Once people start condoning the burning down of refugee camps less than a year after the refugee crisis began you can see how far a nation has fallen to neofacist propaganda. I was once very pro European, but now realise I want no part of the neo fascism I see eminating from the Europeans. Count me out. You choose fascism if you want I'll stick with my loony left ideology that will be tolerated in the uk why would we want to be associated with European neo fascism, we've seen the results of that in the past, we will remember the ones who fought it on Sunday while Europe can embrace it again. Never again. A society can switch to fascism in the click of a finger. I've always been taught to be vigilant of facists from an early age so when I see it on the rise in Europe again I shake my head in disbelief. But don't let this loony lefty bleeding heart stop you. Go for it knock yourselves out keep condoning burning of refugee camps. Very classy and brave indeed. Keep hating people you don't know and believing the xenophobic press. Keep reading your dail Mail articles. en.m.wikipedia.org... maybe take a look at the daily mails, flirtations with fascism in the past

Lord Rothermere (owner of dail Mail) was a friend of Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler, and directed the Mail's editorial stance towards them in the early 1930s.[32][33] Rothermere's 1933 leader "Youth Triumphant" praised the new Nazi regime's accomplishments, and was subsequently used as propaganda by them.[34] In it, Rothermere predicted that "The minor misdeeds of individual Nazis would be submerged by the immense benefits the new regime is already bestowing upon Germany". Journalist John Simpson, in a book on journalism, suggested that Rothermere was referring to the violence against Jews and Communists rather than the detention of political prisoners.[35]

So you were indoctrinated and brain washed by your parents?

Because that is what you said.

That is if I don't include your obvious fixation, which borders on obsession, with " neo fascism ".

Intelligence truth brother, I think you need to talk to a professional.

Your mind is not free to explore life.

It has been, through brute force by your parents beating a dread of fascism into it, made to see fascist ideology where it doesn't exist.

It doesn't take fascism to respond violently when one feels threatened.

The Swedes feel their culture identity country and future is being attacked.

Well at least the ones burning refugee camps.

And I bet a lot more feel the same but lack the will to fight back.

a reply to: Drinking not just my parents but grand parents who laid there lives down to fight fascism in Europe. We remember by saying "never again". Shame our European brothers have taken the uk and other allies sacrifices in Vain.

Fascism is kinda like herpes ... it's lurking around all the time, waiting to pounce, but usually the immune system of the organism is sufficient to keep it from gaining a foothold.and causing problems But when that system is challenged or weakened, then the virus can grow enough to affect the behavior and health of the organism. We should be talking more about prevention. In this metaphor, the "immune system" consists, in part, of the societal institutions that encourage values like diversity, awareness, respect, cooperation, and understanding among different groups within our society, We keep fascism at bay when we work to strengthen these institutions and reinforce these values.

I am failing to see fascism in this scenario. I simple see groups of people afraid they will lose their standard of living and life as they know it. If time proves them wrong, they will back off.

Don't worry I've been round this site for a long time and understand we are not all concerned or believe the same things. It's really no skin off my nose. I have more important things to be concerned over right now

The article is about the Swedish Democrats who are currently polling very well, I think the rise of fascism in Europe is extremely relevant.

From Wiki

The Sweden Democrats was founded in 1988 as a successor to the Sweden Party, which in turn had been formed in 1986 by the merger of Bevara Sverige Svenskt (BSS, English: Keep Sweden Swedish) and a faction of the Swedish Progress Party.[36] SD claims as its date of foundation 6 February 1988 although observers rather see the party's foundation as part of a complex decade-long series of events, and some have even questioned that a meeting took place on 6 February.[37] The party had its roots in Swedish fascism,[36] and was a part of the white supremacy movement;[12] initially it was characterized by right-wing extremism and activism. SD's long used logo from the 1990s until 2006 was a Swedish version of the UK National Front torch.[36]

Well, off topic but entertaining.

Americas democratic party was founded by members of the KKK.

At least history is reciprocal.

I don't expect you to eliminate everything, but to answer your question the notion that one form of worthwhile labour should be held in higher regard than another and given greater reward and privilege is a fallacy, as all are mutually dependent and all have sacred representation, the class and monetary systems will be brought to an end and those who can't imagine such won't be around to see it, the Goddess Nazi will be in charge of welfare so all will be well...

Oh. I did not know that.

See if I can make this thought fit in anyway to that word (fascist) and the current situation.

In the U.S.; the absolutely most vile word a person can use, is the n-word. This is because of our shameful past connection to it. To use it now is a reminder of that shame and all the terrible things we did. Nobody is permitted to use it except Blacks. (Not that anybody wants to - we don't- it makes us cringe.)

In Germany, the 'nazi' word is about the same. It's a deeply shameful and cringe worthy word for the Germans, because of their terrible association with it and the terrible things they did. To call a German that now, is very very harsh and insulting.

Could it be that Swedes feel the same way, then, about the word fascist, and they toss it around as the greatest insult, even though the accusations might not be true?

I'm not even sure what I'm trying to say here........ Clumsily thought out and clumsily written -- but somewhere in there is a connection. I think. Maybe.
