So war in Yemen is getting more dangerous as drones are being shot down and ships are being sunk. I think its the third ship sunk by the Yemen army, they claim to have downed drones too. This thread is to keep track of the war in Yemen, and post updates on the developments.
So if you have Yemen war information please post it so we can keep track of whats happening in this middle eastern country.

The Iranians has developed a highly sophisticated domestically built anti-ship missile system named Noor reverse-engineered off of an original Chinese C-803 design.

The current Iranian anti-ship missile has a range of about 200 kilometers, so the anti-ship missile could be fired well into the interior of Yemen and still control the el-Mandeb Strait that is only about 30 kilometers. In 2006, Hezbollah successfully hit the INS Hanit, an Israeli warship, with an earlier version of the Iran/Chinese anti-ship missile.

If these anti-ship missiles have been smuggled into Yemen to the Houthis, this would present the Saudi-led coalition naval forces with a catastrophic game-changing threat as they try to maintain their naval blockade of the Houthis on the West Yemen coast.

Thanks for starting the thread . This Yemen war was and still is a surprise for me . I understand the strategic location and what it could mean in the future but ,I have to question the Saudi's real reason . It's not like a war they can win and will only end up costing them more and more ...I think someone must have whispered in their ear some BS that got them all paranoid . any how I just wanted to mark the thread and say thanks ....peace

This warship sinking is nonsense. Anything the Saudis would be using to shell a village would be far out of range of anything shore based. And even the Saudi's smallest ships like patrol boats have Phalanx anti missile systems. And the lack of details as to what type of ship, the name of the ship and type of weapon used makes the entire thing sound like nothing more than wishful propaganda. The Saudis only have so many ships it would not be hard to figure out if 3 were missing.

I googled the info and other websites are reporting the same thing, that a ship was sunk by some Iranian missle tech.. . . .
Looks legit to me. . . .

After the incident, Saudi warplanes and naval vessels several times bombarded the coastal area in the district of Mukha in the province.

Saudi warplanes also bombarded other provinces in the impoverished Arab country. In one of the airstrikes on the Yemeni province of Sana’a, at least four civilians, including three children, were killed. The Saudi fighter jets also bombarded a foodstuff factory in the province.

Iran Claims Houthis Destroy Saudi or Egyptian Warship Off Yemen

If true, claim suggests pro-Iranian rebels in Yemen have their hands on sophisticated anti-ship missiles, presenting a game-changing threat.

I dunno if its legit or not but Yemenis are saying they sunk the ship, and are claiming this was the third one. . . . I didnt even know one had been sunk, but am seeing reports of ships being sunk earlier this month. Maybe this is why the US is selling the Saudis ships. . . .

Found this on liveleak of the supposed targeting of a ship then firing missles by nite:

Yemen’s army, backed by allied popular committees loyal to the Houthi Ansarullah movement, has destroyed a second Saudi warship in a missile attack in the southeast of the impoverished Arab country.

From Sputnik site:
“Parts of the Yemeni Army launched a missile in the direction of one of the warships, from which the port of Mocha was shelled. The target was precisely struck and sunk,” the source said.

That picture is the USNS Kilauea during a SINKEX in 2012. It was sunk by an Australian submarine during the 2012 RIMPAC exercises. The Concord, Kilauea, and Niagara Falls were all sunk that year.

Nice catch I deleted the pic, I was wondering why in the video the missles were fired at night, yet in the pic it looked like a photoshoot in broad daylight not something out of war at all.

They are not the Yemen Army. They are rebels supported by Iran.

We know this because the UN Security Council placed arms embargo's on the Iranian backed groups. The resolution passed with Russia abstaining.

Just spotted this "800 Colombian Soldiers to Join Saudi-Led Forces in Yemen"

This content was originally published by teleSUR at the following address:

Hundreds of former Colombian nationals are fighting alongside Saudi Arabian-led forces in Yemen, according to reports Sunday.

The troops include former Colombian soldiers fighting under contract with Saudi Arabia. According to Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, the first group of just under 100 Colombian troops arrived in Yemen earlier this month. The newspaper has reported the troops were set to arrive in the southern port city of Aden, which is currently under the control of Saudi Arabia and forced allied with Yemen's ousted president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

As many as 800 Colombian fighters could take up frontline positions under Saudi command, according to the newspaper. In recent days unconfirmed reports have surfaced the number of Colombians in Yemen may have already reached that number.

The news comes as Colombia’s government advances in peace accords with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerrillas to end the country five-decade old conflict.

Whats the range of anti ship missles anyway? If they have lost three ships they must be in a world of hurt. . . .

I know there was a naval blockade against Yemen, maybe the ships were sunk. . .. . .

I wonder if the naval blockade is still there?

I deplore the deaths and suffering on both sides.

However, there is something distinctly satisfying when a bully gets a bloody nose from it's victim.

Pick on one of, if not the poorest nation in the region..result? Yemen is proving to be not quite the walkover Saudi imagined they would be.

All of those billions spent on arms from the West and Israel over the decades...and Saudi cannot even put down the poorest country?

Money well spent?

Proves RT go the extra mile for the facts.

They'll go where other agencies fear to tread it seems.
