Why usually tolerant British people like myself are becoming more intolerant and xenophobic!

I'd say that letting the actions of a few dictate your opinions of the whole is listening to propaganda. I refuse to let anyone try to tell me that most or all muslims are secretly terrorists. They may have different cultures which have values that I don't agree with, but that doesn't mean they are inherently bad people. They have good people and bad people and letting images like you just described dictate your opinion of the whole is listening to propaganda. That's really the only way that bigotry spreads.

Example: You brought up Muslims "no-go" zones. That is just a buzzphrase invented by the media to call a ghetto a bigoted name. Surprise! Ghettos tend to be intolerant of outsiders. Being Muslim has nothing to do with it. Since these refugees have little to no money, OBVIOUSLY they'll construct and live in ghettos. Calling them a "no-go" zone just shows intolerance. How many ghettos of black people do you go into? White people? Chinese people?

You know, you could always try to be the better person and stand ABOVE the hate? All hating the intolerant Muslims in return does is just perpetuate the cycle of hate and bigotry never dies. Even entertaining the idea that Islamophobia doesn't exist is bigoted. Just stop. You say you are a loving person, well act it. Stop letting hate from the few influence your opinions of the whole. Always remember, it's always the worst of the worst that are the loudest.

If it was my mistake, it was an easy one to make when you said white people are already in the minority in Coventry (why that should mean anything is a question you should be thinking about), and your very next line was around how muslims will be running the country - if you really think I shouldn't have drawn the conclusion I did then I guess that's more down to how you express yourself than anything else.

The point with the flag is that in and of itself, there is nothing illegal in flying it, but whether you like it or not it has been tainted by extremist white groups in England. I don't like that any more than you do, but in some areas it's seen as a symbol of isolationsim whether we like it or not. America don't forget recently had similar issues with the confederate flag being subverted in a similar manner.

These comments have obviously been written by someone who follows Islam and who isn't white!!! So it would appear it is he who is making the assumption that true muslims aren't white. You do owe me an apology me thinks!!!!

I got to the part about moving back to manchester and burkas, to see your viewpoint. There are some for sure but I seriously wouldn't raise that as an issue to defend your stance. Sure there are a few out of hundreds and hundreds walking around. Maybe you're only seeing the back of old ladies wearing headscarves,.

Lets not even go down how we Brits integrate into other cultures when we emigrate, I suppose those ex pat communities are a myth.

I do agree we have an immigration problem in terms of the numbers, not just here but more widely felt in southern europe. Does the blame lie with those seeking refuge or does the West hold some responsibility for our action and inactions?

One of the Human Rights guarantee the unity of a family. Your proposal goes against The Fundamental Human Right

It's so interesting to me that PCness is so ingrained and pervasive that a concerned citizen like this OP cannot even politely and almost apologetically object to the situation on reasonable terms without being called racist or a hater. When you control speech or dialogue, you control the situation. It's positively Orwellian.

Hey look, Australia and the US turned out great. I bet the Aborigines and the Red Indians said the same thing that you just wrote.

Just recently a Christian mentioned to me that the same folks berating and "hating" on Christianity and Christians, will about face, and defend Islam and Muslims. Not that I haven't seen or heard that comment before. But I usually pass it off as deflection. This is the first time I've actually seen what that Christian said in action. I owe that person an apology. You know who you are.

by letting only elders, women and children in, you guarantee that the persons who need help the most will be looked after and also you minimize the risk of terrorists seeping into europe.

No speech is controlled, lets say a persons voices his opinion against muslims, then another person, who BTW has the same freedom calls him racist. So wheres the controlled speech here?
