In 1000 years time the USA as a super power will be just a page in the history book.

I hope for your sake, that you're right.

Everyone speaking Russian seems to me like a far more likely outcome from WW2. The US shortened the war and seriously reduced the number of casualties but it would have been won without it. At the end of it though Stalin would have owned large chunks of Europe, all of Asia, and had nuclear weapons long before anyone else.

If you want to look at a more recent example, without the US the world would probably be on the verge of speaking Arabic right now or possibly Mexican depending on just how powerful the cartels became.

Even if America collapses under the weight of all the bull# that can be solved by eliminating the sources of the problems.
America is so far advanced that the elites and their forces will carry on the species even if the super powers say fark it and nuke the planet.
Just take comfort in that and don't worry about the rest.

The US was the factories for the Russian war machine. Without the US factories Russia would never have been able to catch up. There is a reason Stalin kept pushing for the allies to open up the Western front (D-Day landings). It was to pull pressure from the Russian front.

Without US factories and its version of lend-lease Russia would not have survived. I don't think England would have either. At some point I think we would have seen japan open its own front against the Russians as well.

To make the argument without the US, we have to look at hat occurred before the US entered the war. We still provided war material to the UK. No US means no resources going to England or anywhere else and that doesn't include what we did when we joined the war.

Not that bollocks again.

UK beat off the German invasion of the UK months before the US turned up.

And you didnt join the war out of charity and goodness of your hearts either, you got attacked and dragged into it.

WW2 was a INTERNATIONAL effort and a INTERNATIONAL victory. The usa was just one cog in that victory.

And this thread not about the past it about the future.

And one day, maybe not even this century or the even next the USA will end up steping down as a superpower like evey other. It will just be a page in the history books.

It wasn't only the U.S. that supplied The U.S.S.R. I take it that you understand that.

3. Americans increasingly on mind-altering drugs

Because America is the bomb!

I don't think that's the case at all. Seems like someone's holding
a urine cup for everything you have to do now days. Go to work,
wait urine sample please? To the park or get in your car in america
or to the bar even. Of course it's no big deal at the bar unless the
demand a sample at the door.

Unfortunately I have seen it first hand. And just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

BTW I am American, in a time when being such means much less than you believe it does. America is a corporation not a country, and our military is nothing more than lobby security at this point.

As far as making friends....not why I'm here.

Yeah if you could check your hatred at the door for a minute you would notice the conversation is based on what would happen if the US were not around. While the Brits beat of the Germans in the real world, in a world where the US did not exist means the Brits were completely on their own without US support, which means no supplies or military goods to allow the Brits to survive the stranglehold the Nazis had, let alone lend-lease or eventual US military entering the war on the side of the allies.

Maybe next time keep up with the conversation instead of showing your hatred towards the US in a HYPOTHETICAL situation that was asked.

I dont "hate" Americans. I dont have problems against your people or even your servicemen and women who I have meet and rather think are a Great bunch.

I do however (like many Americans even I meet) hate your government and think your politicians are a bunch of clueless buffoons more interested in there bank accounts than its own peoples welfare.

But then I hate the UK government and European Union for the same reasons.

But as much as I detest the actions of your government your still my cousins. And if the the USA was ever ATTACKED FIRST I would defend your guys in a heartbeat.

I have been watching those supposedly stupid animals preparing for winter outside while I read all of this crap online about the end of the world and civil unrest and all.

I take great comfort from watching how little the affairs of us "shaved apes" have on their business of surviving the winter which is coming.

If they can do it, I can do it, and so can we all.

Just sayin....

Is American a bomb waiting to explode, Sam Gerrans thinks so.

1. Destruction of farms and reliable food source
2. Weak economic system
3. Americans increasingly on mind-altering drugs
4. Morals in decline

Nowhere to run

Actually no.3 might be responsible for 1, 2 and 4. Although I don't see 1 since it appears things like megafarms are on the rise and it'll not be long until there are robots that will do most of the farming.

In the past, people used to grow from their problems by learning how to mentally solve them and they passed on this information to their children and hence some families became more powerful than others. But nowadays people take pills to shut up the mind and continue functioning. This all leads to more superficial people, with little life experience, wisdom, selfreliance. They'll not be great entrepeneurs or visionaries, just mediocre at best. It says something about a society where a lot of people need drugs in order to be happy.

It does sound like a hopeless scenario.

Can you imagine a world without the U.S?

I imagine one every day. In fact, I'd have to yield to John Lennon's Imagine... "Imagine there's no countries. It isn't hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for..."

I was never a fan of most of Lennon's solo career or any of the Beetles for that matter, they just lost that magic they had as a group. That said, Lennon had one hell of a voice and Imagine is probably his best work, though I disagree with it. I find the song a bit more nihilistic than I think he meant it to be, and I think his dream of removing from humanity all of the things that make people strive to improve themselves and each other would actually create hell on earth.

Anyways the point is, the US government hasn't acted like a saint, and neither have our people but we're not that bad. I think of these things more in terms of good and bad we've done in the world and I'm nowhere near convinced the US is a net negative on the world.

The medicines we've developed, the technologies, world aid, stability, even when you consider things like invading Iraq, instilling South American dictators like Pinochet, initially funding and training Al Qaeda, and so on we're a net gain to the world.

If anyone destroys the US it will be are politicians. They are running our country into the ground. There is no good party to vote for their all in the same club. The corporate oil club. The Monsanto club. The big Pharma club. The big Insurance and medical club, the big bank credit society club. They arent improving America at all. And are votes dont matter they do what there agenda is regardless of what the people think.

Kind of Amusing:

"A Bomb" why is it a Bomb if the Empire comes to a end?

Ats always has the world going bankrupt, everybody murdering each other in the streets, starvation, meltdowns, pandemics, the Chinese invade with like...100 Million guys instantly lol. And oh god the precious constitution being gone causes the undead to rise or something

Do you know what happens if the US govt falls apart... absolutely nothing so terrible. I want to make a list of why it would be great and it might be the best thing that could ever happen.

1: The Debt goes away, there will be some mess sure, "some" people will act the fool but as soon as the USA dissolves there is no one to collect from. But what you do have is a system of States with Governors and a national guard and from that system is the salvation.

2: The entire US Military comes home, on top of instant debt relief as a whole the ex citizens of the USA loose a Trillion dollar or more a year nightmare of endless war, govt agencies cease to exist that are costly, secret programs die... but guess what the hardware remains in the States the ships pull into and where ever we base them they don't explode they get redistributed a bit, we wouldn't be defenseless

3: Nobody invades us, for starters as per no 1 there will be issues, the main thing other nations will do is flock in to get a piece of the pie, despite a loss of a massive debt the rest f the world temporarily at least has 50 new leaders to negotiate with, some nations will send aid, others will be right in there to make deals they never could have made with the USA as a whole. But realize... with the USA out of the picture, Russia, China, Islam any of our enemies have "local" power goals, Taiwan, Ukraine, Mongolia....who knows but you can bet, they have better things to do then to attempt to hold a territory 6,000 Miles away while fighting the wars we hold back, especially when they have at that point not a clue as to who is holding the Nukes... Likely just like the Soviet Unions fall there would be money and arse kissing in regards to those States not an invasion they will be more concerned with making sure the Nuke plants don't melt down and poison them as well as soon as the "USA" problem comes to an end...

4: The bickering and division would end, local govt assures that because law on everything from whatever useless topics we fight internally will be agreeable by region and State where as right now you have these diverse dynamics conflicting over Thousands of Miles religious vs vs progressive views each State will do it's own thing and in a far more effective manner than compromise State by State you will have a Test of what works best rather than constant political conflict.

5: There wont be mass Starvation, it would suck but we have food reserves our neighbors would be relatively cool to us, there is no lack of Water on this Continent, You would be rid of Monsanto overnight which is GOOD, you might even see things happen like the Canadians allowing a pipeline to the Southwest in emergency situations, we wouldn't be messed with that's for sure because in normal trade you have water shortages BUT you don't have "normal" negotiations either when there are 300 Million thirsty desperate Americans with guns south of the border.

6: Constitution? As it goes back to State rule you will actually get a chance to draft your own Constitutions and be a part of how it should read in 2015

7: Every thing will take a back seat to food and water... we have plenty of both, the first year would suck, but there are food reserves, the funny thing is crops and Cattle don't die because the Govt does lol... there'd be bs, but it would get distributed and maybe some would die and a lot suffer but you know what? In under a year America rid of crazy laws would be a world example of turning cities green, from community gardens to people putting in their own solar etc, etc... all the freakin regulations would be gone (well worth a year of granola bars and ramen or whatever other junk gets dropped in) Fighting... some until idiots realize they need to keep the food rolling or they will be too weak to fight very quickly... The cities wont destroy themselves there is not a State in the Union without Police a Governor and Farms, what do you people think the folks at Tyson Chicken will do? slaughter them rather than not get paid? That's ludicrous

8: Some places will explode, some... should we all lie to ourselves? Will we miss them? Would some inner city burning and Hatfield and Mcoy type stupidity in the rural areas do anything but Darwin out the worst of us?

9: Immigration would change drastically over night for the better, no more desperate refugees the USA is in turmoil, who would we get? Scientists, Doctors, those who come to help from whomever is left that likes us...

10: Morality, from suffering comes a generation who learns first hand what matters, the debate on American Morality isn't sex or religion or drugs... it's priorities and being lavish and spoiled, people would have to get real very quickly and the experience would end the "over doing it" the Obese would vanish, those who can't hold their smoke and function would loose, people who divorce over sex or money would know WHY the family unit exists very quickly

11: In time there would be something new, the States, most wont remain separate, maybe you'd see the North American Union form, something I like to call Manifest Destiny. But most of all the Federal Govt would be gone. The Policing of the world would be gone and we'd surely rebuild and it's not ancient times, let's face it from WW2 to the EU was pretty short of a time span, this would be quicker there wouldn't be the animosities of War and honestly instead of blame maybe we just realize we weren't built for the 21st century we were built for the 1800's and the same model doesn't work for ever.

Could be the best damn thing that ever happened to us...
