It's not that it was a small rally, it's that they dared to protest at all. They will grow in numbers as the war drags on and the economy continues to tank.

For centuries it was completely forbidden. Since the fall of the Soviet Union small demonstrations are permitted, but their organizers have a tendency to be arrested and/or killed. You asked.

What color theme do you suppose they'll give this revolution?

The anti-war event was organized by Russian Solidarnost movement

Players behind the Russian color revolution - Solidarnost movement

Nemtsov, one of the most prominent of the Putin opposition today is also co-chairman of Solidarnost, a name curiously enough imitated from the Cold War days when the CIA financed the Polish Solidarnosc workers’ opposition of Lech Walesa.

You do realize Put in declared all foreign aid illegal and kicked out every one years ago. But I find it ironic that as stated in the article the leader if this position party was murdered on red square. Odd don't you think? Put in declares democracy party illegal and then the people that ran it end up dead. Nothing strange there just move along.

The only thing I find interesting is that anyone would be willing to protest when at this point all position to put in policies people end up dead or in jail. This makes me wonder why they attempted it in the first place. You know everyone there was placed on an FSB watch list and likely will be harrassed just like opposition has been in the past. Not sure they gain anything by this so I'm very confused as to why.
