NATO has never expressed interest in building a base in Ukraine. On the off chance you didn't know NATO had refused to build any bases in countries with a direct border with Russia. All that changes when Russia invaded Ukraine.

If NATO wanted a base close to Russia it could have placed them in the countries already touching Russia. The NATO Ukraine bs is propaganda Russia is using to try and justify their illegal invasion and occupation of Ukraine. As has been stated time and time again everything Putin is doing is creating the very scenario he claims he is trying to stop.

Considering Ukraine is not a member of NATO there would be no reason to have plans to build a NATO base there. As a matter of fact the only NATO base I am aware of is in Italy.


Putin needs a boogyman to blame and NATO and Ukraine are it.

Putin was so stupid. He could have gotten Crimea easily, make a deal with Ukraine:

a) Ukraine gives Crimea to Russia, but with rights to use its bases, just as Russia had rights in Crimea when it was Ukraine
b) Russia gives cheap gas to Ukraine with a long-term contract, may not threaten cutoffs.
c) Ukraine agrees not to join NATO
d) Russia agrees Ukraine can join any economic alliance like EU
e) Russian not banned from schools in Ukraine
f) money from Russia to Ukraine
g) Kleptocrats who stole money from Ukraine give up proceeds of theft
h) Ukraine also joins Russian economic alliance

You must have forgot Victoria "f the EU" and her hopes for "Yaks" before the shtf there. I think that Poroschenko and his cronies had a lot of help there and it didn't come from Russia. Russia was doing well with its old president,why would they have removed them? Thats just nonsense.

Don't muddy the water with facts that the US had their hands in the Ukraine mess well before the SHTF there. No one wants to hear about the US's intrusive and manipulative behaviors, we are the great saviors of the world... saving them from the their lands, resources, and profits!

You left out the part where the US backed the fascists to push the protests and violence in Ukraine to start this whole mess.
