Attempted Burglary, and Hail to our Law Inforcement

I wonder what other peoples reactions are to similar situations?
I am very tired almost fatigued, rather odd for me, especially on my days off.

Emotional stress is worse for me than a twelve hour work day.

How do people who live in high crime areas cope? Do they just adapt? What does that do to their body and psyche?

It still baffles me that some one would shine a flash light, seven feet up, on the bed. Bastard. Impotent idiot. Ballless Turd, at least he would be after I got hold of him.

Any way I'd like to hear from others, how they handled it.
