From the title "Religious freedom no excuse to deny rights to others" should be stamped everywhere. No person or group of persons should be denied any rights based on sex (or lack of to be politically correct), age, race, nationality, or any other modifier. Once a certain right gets taken away, how long before others go? How many rights need to be stripped before its one you (vague you, not you in particular) care about?

Religion needs to have no bearing or influence on government, or laws.

We all have our own personal 'goat-herders'...

Not a real fan of the guy. Give him a C- as a President. Although, we didn't have the worst attack on American soil since Peal on his watch....

The only God that dislike the free will of its creation and keep telling them that is a haven and hell that they will go if they do not follow its rules and commandments is the Man created God.

So to say that God doesn't like certain actions or how people live their lives is actually man the one with the dislikes, discrimination, prejudices and hypocrisy, the bible is a very nice book full of myth, lore and some historical truth but as with everything it was man made and written by men.

At the end we all human beings of the same species with the purpose of advancement of the soul.

God does allow homosexual relationships even if he dislikes it. But for a far different reason than many understand and is clearly stated why in the Authorized Version of the Bible in Romans Chapter one.

By "authorized", I'm assuming you mean the KJV?
By "allow", do you just mean he doesn't smite them immediately? Because Paul makes it quite clear that God finds it very distasteful, and takes action behind the scenes, so to speak. Paul also lumps them in with those worthy of death in the same chapter. I guess I'm just curious about your take on it, and how you came to the conclusion you did. Sincere question, btw.

Well, if God is real and he didn't do anything to prevent homosexuals -- I'd say that's him "allowing it". Supposedly God is this all powerful, all encompassing, Q from Star Trek like being that could snap his fingers and cause terrible suffering upon all gay people if he wanted.

*looks around* Nope, my gay friends are still fine. So, if God isn't stopping it -- he's allowing it. This is, assuming of course there is some external personality/intelligence called God that interferes with mankind.

Exactly. If God has an issue with it he would have just zapped the gay right out of them.

Not anymore. SCOTUS ruled.

However, yes there are still sodomy laws on the books in some states - - - that ignorant law officers try to enforce.

America is not that many years from all these things, even though we try and pretend that we are

Isn't America a Federal Republic?

The whole point of breaking away from the UK was that you no longer wanted to be represented by a Monarch, the head of the church of England.

You kind fo half did a French revolution, but kept the god bit.

In my opinion you should have dropped religion in any legal/legislative documents as soon as you become a republic.

No law in the UK states a higher religious power, it is secular.

Just that the queen is the head of the Church of England.

Nobody has a god given right. It is a right as Humans you have decided God has given you, quite frankly I don't think he cares, he deals with eons of time, not hundreds of years a country has been formed. What is a country? God is asking, if he could be bothered.

Except the military.

They still have to take an oath to God and Country.

I know some groups are fighting to have that changed.

Obama: Religious freedom no excuse to deny rights to others

Except when it comes to gun owners, bankers, and corporations.

It then becomes perfectly acceptable to deny those people rights based on their 'religion'.

What a HYPOCRITE!

Which gun owners, bankers and corporations have been denied their rights? Last I checked the Citizens United ruling happened under Obama's watch.

Miss the tens of thousands of regulations on those people ?

“What does Christianity mean today? National Socialism is a religion. All we lack is a religious genius capable of uprooting outmoded religious practices and putting new ones in their place. We lack traditions and ritual. One day soon National Socialism will be the religion of all Germans. My Party is my church, and I believe I serve the Lord best if I do his will, and liberate my oppressed people from the fetters of slavery. That is my gospel.” ― Joseph Goebbels

Fits Obama and his party like a glove.

Regulations don't take rights away buddy. Though I know that conservatives like to pretend that a restriction equals ban, but that just simply isn't true. Though on top of that, there haven't really been any new gun regulations passed during Obama's watch. Sure there were all the EO's, but they really did jack squat. Gun ownership is at an all time high under Obama.

Then saying that corporations lost rights under Obama is just straight up dishonest. Corporations have never been doing better. Then BANKERS? You seriously said that bankers have lost rights under Obama? HA! What reality do you belong to? The one I belong to hasn't seen ANY bankers held criminally responsible for the 2008 crash and banks are doing as good as they've ever been.

PS: Bringing up Nazis and Goebbels in this topic as a distraction from answering my question is a textbook Godwin's Law. Congrats on straight up forfeiting the argument before you even began.

There are 4,543 words in the Constitution. Not a single one of them is "bible", "Jesus", "Christian", or "heterosexual". It's time for these Sharia acting Taliban-like fundies to shut up and do their jobs.

Sharia , Taliban like?

Nice emotional response......

I dont see where they are stoning gays, throwing them off of buildings, or imprisoning them for their sexual preference......

People like you insist on having a discussion about it but then come out with intellectual dishonest drivel like that........

For the record, im pro gay marriage, and im conservative......I still find your comment to not only be completely off base, but one of the Key reason there cant be an honest discussion about things

I don't want to have an honest discussion about people like Kim Davis. I want them to disappear, taking with them their Bronze Age ideology and their unreconstructed bigotry against anyone not like them, in other words not a three hundred pound serial adultress with a really bad pentacostal perm. She gets paid a really good salary to issue pieces of paper. Not to issue those papers just to the people she likes or approves of. So she is taking money under false pretenses and is, therefore, a thief. Thievery doesn't need to be discussed. It needs to end. And to end quite badly for the thief. The LGBT community is preyed upon because it is perceived to be weak. It is time for that community and its supporters to reverse that perception. And if you believe there theological thugs are not causing physical injuries and death, look up Matthew Wayne Shepard and James Byrd, Jr.

Well that is because constitutional rights ARE constitutional rights.

The gun control crowd is basically the 'Straights' and gun owners are the 'LGBT's'.

The Gun control crowd says they have MORE RIGHTS than the gun owners do.

So gun control was born denying the second through the 10th amendments, and their 14th amendments are EPICALLY violated.

THAT's WHY.
