I know it's a CT site but is anyone else interested in the Pope's visit?

:-)

Well - he probably is. He's got his hands full - and these days he can't even focus on the enemy - he's got to keep threatening to turn the car around

He and I don't see the world the same way either - but I know he's Catholic. I know that this, for him - is an unbelievable moment

Everyone should get to feel that at least once in their life

I wonder how many Fiat 500s will be sold in the next few months in the U.S.?

He also mentioned THE GOLDEN RULE specifically,
jobs more important than money, and opportunities.

END THE ARMS TRADE.
Care for the Earth.
Stop war.
Pool resources and talents for a NEW SOCIAL CONSENSUS.
Avoid NEW FORMS OF SLAVERY.

REHAB, not prison.
GREATEST COMMON GOOD was a main point.
MOVE FORWARD WITH DIGNITY
COOPERATE generously and stand in GLOBAL SOLIDARITY.

Distribution of wealth and responsible use of resources and technology.
End the cycle of poverty.
Restore hope, right wrongs, offer HOPE and HEALING,
and of course, respect.

NO mention of sexual orientation - just emphasis that families are the heart of America.
Reminded we were all children of immigrants or foreigners ourselves.

Refugees must be embraced, immigrants escaping strife and poverty must be given hope for the better life they want.
POOL RESOURCES.
Confront polarization.
Security and equal care for ALL.

A good political leader must always have openness, and will END CONFLICTS.

Those are my notes I took. It was probably easier for me because I'm bilingual, but he was a bit hard to understand for those unfamiliar with Spanish....

and for myself, I had to cover up Boehner's face while I was watching so as not to be distracted by his countenance.

Have a great morning, everyone. Gotta go run errands.

I hope he was at least LISTENING instead of thinking about what he was going to say later.
I hope.
Hope, hope, hope.

The live address just ended. Probably later on today there will be clips, if not a full tape.

At St. Patricks where he will minister to the homeless:

"The son of God came into this world as a homeless person..."

"In the face of unjust situations, Faith is the light that stems the darkness."

"We can find no social or moral justification, no justification whatsoever, for lack of housing."

"Jesus tells us: I was hungry, you gave me food, I was thirsty, you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

"Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn't do this with magic, flashing lights or fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door by the faces of our brothers and sisters"

"In prayer there are no rich or poor people, there are brothers and sisters."

I did not know that

------------------------------------

The pope like anyone else coming to the states does not think in terms of left versus right to the same level as your raised here citizen, its just a peripheral understanding that it is important here to visitors.

That is a uniquely American position, so I think people should remember he is coming here spiritually focused for his flock with an understanding of how politics work here and drive social division, but that political left/right division is not what a visitor or the pope focuses on or lets it decide what you will bring the states or get from the states.

Not sure if the way I worded that makes sense?

This Catholic Charities lunch event is the best so far to me. This man is living his faith. He's joyfully being mobbed by people who, even in their trials, aspire and hold onto to their Faith.

Thanks for that - just finished reading

Didn't know about either of them...

It's been a good day :-)

It helps knowing that there are people like this in the world, that they're all different - and somehow all the same

The Pope pulls in crowds like the Macys day parade in NY

He passed up a lunch on capital hill to spend time with the less fortunate. That was good.

Did anyone see Trump hanging off the balcony rubbernecking at the pope coming down 5th avenue. Too funny!

This Pope is wonderful.

I'm thinking of starting a write-in campaign:

Pope Francis/Dalai Lama 2016

So - I know it will have to wait. But - if the NWO is ever allowed to calm down, those two would be the best World Leaders.

IN MY OPINION.
You heard it here first, folks.

You can buy people to fill out your auditorium - but you can't buy love, respect, admiration - or fascination

It must drive him crazy

Or, it just confuses him

This mans schedule is pretty grueling, es[ecially for his age. He was up and at the UN very early, I think he had to have been up before me - and I didn't do a speech to Congress, lunch at the shelter in DC then jet off to NYC for a parade and Vespers.
