Why don't you explain it for us. Let's use Russia and Ukrainian rebels as an example, so as to make a generalized case.

Lets use you as a active rebel leader... Lets say you are the leader of AQ, and suddenly a Group of US trained individuals show up and say that they want to join Your gang.

Would you let them?

I think they knew full well that the rebels were going to get the weapons, and they dint care as long as its going to be used against the Assad regime. . . .

Personaly i dont think AQ actually put much trust in the US armed and trained rebels. So they took their stuff.

I for sure would not trust some US armed and trained individuals right of the bat. And i sure wouldnt let them move around armed.

Absolutely not. They could be planning on causing a schism, so I'd kill them and take their weapons. Wouldn't you? Or do you trust people who collaborate with Americans?

Edit To Add: I see you answered your own question. Given your answer, what do you make of the claims in the article in the OP? You know I think it's fishy.

I would not kill them, i would not trust them to fight along side With me either. I would have them disarmed asap.

Anyone who is not selected would not be allowed to be a part of the Group.... period.

Sorry, but if they got close enough to your headquarters that you could seize their weapons, you would have no choice but to prevent them leaving. Dead men tell no tales.

So yet again our weapons go into terrorists hands. . . .

Makes ya wonder dont it. . . .
