Definitely looks like rockets not mortars from the video.

Possibly this type of portable rocket launch system or something very like it is the culprit.

Sounds exactly like mortars to me.

I'd bet that is what they used.

Did you watch the video? Doesn't look like mortars to me....though I could very likely be incorrect.

Yes, I did. Didn't look like rockets-missiles to me and it sounded like mortars.

I am certainly not a weapons expert but after looking a videos of Katyusha rockets and mortar rounds fired at night it looks like rocket fire. In the mortar videos the flash from the mortar round is at the end of the mortar tube and doesn't move with the shell while the rockets have a glow from ignition that follows the rocket for a short distance.

I'm not a weapons expert, but to me it looks like the angle of the projectile was too low to be a mortar. Mortars, to my knoweldge, are ballistic. Therefore, they are aimed with a wide angle. Although I'd say the "sound" in the video didn't sound like a rocket, and the fire trail was too short for a rocket.

A "rocket" mortar, with a short burn engine?

Ok thats not right, we just heard a Russian base attacked earlier by US-Backed IS and now we have an attack on a US base.

Looks like the proxy war is getting worse by the minute.

I suspect, Russian backed operatives on this one..

Here's a few stories about it....saying Katyusha rockets fired more toward the former Camp Victory than BIAP.

Or, the enemy of both Russia and the US seeking to embroil them into a military response upon each other?
