Drug manufacturing is just chemistry, and chemistry is just cooking on a molecular level. If you have the right kitchen, the correct ingredients, cooks and recipe -- clone drugs or copies can be made for pennies on the dollar.

Toxoplasmosis isn't uncommon and it's deadly to anyone with a compromised immune system.
Hilarious right?

Americans are getting robbed blind by big pharmacy because they're being allowed to do so by your government's lack of price controls on drugs. They're allowing these corporate dogs to run wild with no leash attached.

It's not quite that simple unfortunately. What's happening is other nations aren't recognizing our drug patents, and they instead produce their own cheap generics. That means we can't sell our drugs on the world market, instead the profit and R&D money has to come entirely from the pockets of Americans since everyone else just uses generics.

Yeah it is hilarious over 4 decades with thousands of mosquito bites.
Never had the 'need' for daraprim.
"I am rolling on the floor laughing my behind off hysterically.
Toxoplasmosis is considered to be a leading cause of death attributed to foodborne illness in the United States. More than 60 million men, women, and children in the U.S. carry the Toxoplasma parasite, but very few have symptoms because the immune system usually keeps the parasite from causing illness.
However, women newly infected with Toxoplasma during pregnancy and anyone with a compromised immune system should be aware that toxoplasmosis can have severe consequences.

I would think big money could be made if you could somehow create a pharmaceutical DRM-like system to prevent copies of a drug from being made.
Heck even Keruig figured out how to force people to use their specific branded K-cups. I bet that's coming though, only the original drug manufacturer will know some proprietary secret that enables only them to make the drug.

It doesn't come from mosquitoes, it comes from cats and under-cooked meats, mostly.
What is malaria? Malaria is a serious and sometimes fatal disease caused by a parasite that commonly infects a certain type of mosquito which feeds on humans. People who get malaria are typically very sick with high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like illness. Four kinds of malaria parasites infect humans: Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae. In addition, P. knowlesi, a type of malaria that naturally infects macaques in Southeast Asia, also infects humans, causing malaria that is transmitted from animal to human ("zoonotic" malaria). P. falciparum is the type of malaria that is most likely to result in severe infections and if not promptly treated, may lead to death. Although malaria can be a deadly disease, illness and death from malaria can usually be prevented.

Just stop please.
Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) is a single-celled parasitic organism that can infect most animals and birds. Because it reproduces only in cats, wild and domestic felines are the parasite's ultimate host.
Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont, and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) drew Turing into an already ongoing congressional investigation into recent drug price increases, sending a letter on Monday asking for information about total gross revenues from sales of Daraprim; prices paid for all sales; the prices in foreign markets; and the identity of company official(s) responsible for setting the price.
John Carroll, the editor of Fierce Biotech, a daily newsletter about the industry, was one of the first to ask Turing chief executive Martin Shkreli directly to explain the move. In a hot-headed Twitter exchange over the weekend, Shkreli declined to provide additional information and instead launched into a series of personal attacks against Carroll -- calling him "irrelevant" and someone who doesn't "think logically."
Let's see if we can get a statement from @MartinShkreli. Martin, your co. just hiked the price of an old drug - new to you - by 5000%. Why?

@JohnCFierce You are such a moron.
