Donald Trump, Ben Carson trade barbs over religion

Trump versus Carson on their respective religiosity is a huge joke.

Carson for one demonstrates the very opposite of humility by claiming he is a humble religious guy.

"Probably the biggest thing is I realize where my success has come from, and I don't in any way deny my faith in God," Carson told a crowd in Anaheim, California. "And I think that probably is a big differentiator."

"You know, one of my favorite Bible verses, Proverbs 22:4 - it says by humility and the fear of the Lord our riches and honor and life, and that's a very big part of who I am," Carson continued. "Humility and the fear of the Lord. I don't get that impression with him. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get that impression."

Anyone with a shred of religious training knows that such a statement he made is a big no no: you aren’t humble in declaring to the world you are a humble servant of God.

You're suppose to allow others to declare you are a humble servant of God not yourself!

Carson again just demonstrates his ignorance and lameness and lack of sophistication as a clunky unsophisticated country boy with a load of ambition and ego

Trump is also borrowing this new cloak of religiosity to get votes, is a phony religious guy who is clearly playing the clueless evangelicals (who are and were always more interested in power than any truth) and Trump using very slick psychological methods knows this.

Trump couldn’t quote a biblical verse if his life depended on it and likely hasn’t been in a church in 30 years unless it was a wedding ceremony.

Though Trump with his more sophisticated approach and venom will likely Crush Carson in this new spat

And phoning in to CNN early Thursday morning, Trump fired back at Carson, who he said "makes Bush look like the Energizer Bunny." Trump has in recent weeks made fun of Bush's "low energy."

Carson already has backed down

Carson has since apologized for his attacks on Trump, saying in an interview with the Washington Post that "the intention was not to talk to him but about what motivates me."

How are they more of a joke than our current elected officials WillT?

All talk and no action once elected is all I see! Doesn't matter which party you choose to worship either!

*Correction:

Politicians speak in forked tongues. Period.

They hug you and stab you in the back. They tell you what you want to hear only to do the opposite.

Sad reality.

Why does every politician need to be religious?
Why must the ones that really aren't tip toe around and try to convince us that they are?

I wish Trump would just say "I want to sleep with satan and be his b####"

At least I would apreciate his honesty

And that would be cool. Not an atheist president, but a president that's openly down with satan and worshiping the self.

Edit;
America is the great satan
America is the antichrist.
Most of our so called Christians would rather drive a humvee and wear the new iwatch then actually be a Christian.

And so what? I'm proud to be an American and proud to be totally agnostic and apathetic about the fairy tales that are destroying the world.

Hail Satan and God bless America.

And this means that all politicians needs to be religious? in order to be considered for positions of power? hell, we all know what the so call presidents born again Christians has done for this nation.

Really? we are in the 21 first century and is more going on around the world right now than been worrying who may be religious or not.

Who cares.

Nice to see Ben getting some bad press. That means he's being taken seriously.

I disagree. What matters is that you walk the walk AND talk the talk. If you actually live a humble life, there's nothing wrong with saying that you are humble. Thinking or saying that you are humble doesn't automatically make you not humble. What matters is that you practice what you preach.

Ben Carson isn't a born and bred politician. The majority of his professional life has been spent in service to others. He has saved a lot of lives and changed a lot of lives. I think he is one of the few people out there (and possibly the only candidate) who can honestly say that he is humble. He wasn't always like this either. He tried to stab someone once when he was in high school, before he gave himself to the Lord and got saved. Just listening to him, seeing his change in attitude from someone who was just another angry street punk to who he is now, tells me that he is born again. That's what I get from him.

I also think Carson is a far better role model for black youth than Obama is. I respect Carson. I think Obama is a worthless piece of crap. If Carson became president I think he would define his administration by doing what's moral first and foremost even if the moral thing is the hard thing, and not just do what seems to be the most convenient thing at the time. There is nothing moral in the Obama administration.

And I agree with Carson. I don't get that from Trump. Trump is a chameleon - he will say anything to get a leg up in a negotiation. Who he actually is? I don't think anyone knows.

I honestly don't know why anyone is taking Carson or Trump seriously.

The GOP 'establishment' wouldn't give either one the 'nomination'.

The later I understand. He's a clown. The former I don't understand. He's not establishment. Intelligent and honest, as far as I can see. Maybe that's why he will be castigated.

Exactly.

Carson's got some good ideas, and I respect that he's actually a physician who has practiced.

....all politicians speak in forked tongues; adding religious overtones just makes the whole circus more boring.

There's no such thing as an 'honest' politician. Because politics by it's very nature is dishonest.

I don't think the GOP will back either one because they know they would lose.

So, what? More of the same? That will lose? Cruz. Huckabee.

OK, let's look at this differently. Who in this race is able to not be either Romney or McCain?

Hey now I don't have ANY dog in this race.

I am LESS than thrilled with ALL of choices so far.

Haven't seen anyone I can get behind. That has a realistic shot.

Exactly.

I think Carson would do better than people expect. He's smart. Articulate. Accomplished. I don't necessarily agree with all his ideas, but he doesn't waffle around, either. He thinks what he thinks, and isn't going to change. I can respect that, if not necessarily agree.

Trump on the other hand, scares the ever livin' crap outta me.

Realistically speaking.

I don't see Carson coming up with the $1 billion plus it takes to buy the presidency.

Sorry but what is occurring is directly Obamas fault. Did you not think that Americans would sicken of his policies and go HARD right? This isnt the first time in our nation that the pendulum has swung in such a manner.....and let's be honest...no one speaks with a more forked tongue than good ole Hilary

Trump has about as much religion as a rock. He's a smart guy....knows how to work all the angles....he has my vote as long as he follows thru with deportations....if he becomes pres and does nothing about it?....well then we may as well just burn down the WH....because it will be the final nail in the coffin of public trust.
