Typical......what about the non-christian refugees?

What are YOU doing.

We have Organizations funded by the people to actually make a difference. Please find one that you like and make a difference.

And YOU think making a thread in which you only demonstrate your prejudice is doing something?

P.S. it's been done ad nauseum

Well I dont know about you but Im sure most members on ATS create threads to inform other users. We know it wont make much difference. Informing people of avenues that COULD make a difference is certainly more than what you are doing pal.

The OP is only making a case for helping one particular group of refugees and is ignoring a vast number of others while playing into the christian victim complex in the US.....I don't know about you buddy but I find that pretty disgusting.

I will assume with the private organizations airlifting refugees that they will put a priority on women, children, and families.

Yet, the emphasis of our approach is “verification.” We have an internationally respected and experienced security contractor handling this process on our behalf with the mandate to do their work according to standards that are even more stringent than those employed by others in the international community, including the United Nations.

The vetting program begins with the families being recommended by the local Christian leaders. In most cases, these are people whom the Christian leaders have known for their entire lives. So, we are evacuating people from within an enclosed cultural system. We then meet with each of the recommended IDPs/Refugees personally to begin the process of ensuring they are who they say they are.

During this time we record their stories, collect documentation of their identity and then we diligently and carefully verify and cross-check both their stories and their documents. Along the way, we confirm their desire to be relocated and also make sure they fully understand this will be a challenging process to assimilate into a new country and culture.

We employ of a number of other “best practices” used by the intelligence community to analyze the behavior of the interviewees throughout the entire process. While we can’t fully disclose all that’s involved in vetting these people, we can tell you that international standards are employed. During the vetting process, we also work with government officials from the “receiving” countries to ensure all appropriate immigration paperwork is completed and verified.

ONCE THE FAMILIES ARE VETTED, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Families are legally transported from their home or host country to their new country where they are received by individual sponsors or a sponsoring organization (depending upon the country).

They are helped to assimilate from finding accommodations to education for their children to finding employment to language acquisition, etc. Through sponsoring organizations, the families are also provided with some financial assistance with the intent of easing their transition into life and work in their new home and country.

Truth is you don't need to blow things up or shoot people these days to be labelled a terrorist. Just being in the wrong place and thinking or voicing non conventional thoughts is more than sufficient.

Some day quite soon the word "terrorist" will be as widespread as the word "ok".

You could assume wrong, and are they going to get people that are not christians out? Seems to be a question that isn't being answered.

Christian Victim complex?

The fact is they ARE being slaughtered over there, the fact is their homes are being marked with "Nazerene" so that they know to go in and kill them

Theres nothing wrong with pointing out that this is happening and trying to help.......

It was the Jews and gays and the sick being killed by Nazis, but when we went in to save the "Jews" none of the wussified people here in the US thew a stink because of the label......

The Jews were saved, (almost too late) but so was everyone else

Get off your soap box and quit trying to derail the thread.....

If you dont want to do anything then dont, but you have no right to try and brow beat people that are...........

go be miserable somewhere else

They kill anyone and everyone they want to.
www.thedailybeast.com...

Currently the US is going to accept 10k refugees, but it is going to take up to two years to go through background checks.

So I wonder if the refusal is more that they are going through the same checks as everyone else.

I agree. 2 years seems a long time though. They will have all settled in the EU by then if not killed already. Im just concerned by the reports that the Christians are thrown of the refugee boats here in Italy before arrival. There were reports just today on the news it happened again, christian women dumped in the middle of the Med. They are being killed by ISIS and other refugees too. The poor buggers haven't got a chance, even when they do escape ISIS they are in dander of death. We need to get them out. They are being branded!!!! I know when Christians are mentioned on ATS people automatically moan, please find a heart.

Something doesn't ring true about your claims and those of your sources. I suggest you read over the State Department's Proposed Refugee Admissions for Fiscal Year 2015.

It's repeatedly stated that Christians are included in the groups under the Priority 2 designation (Priority 1 are individuals referred by recommendation of Ambassadors and regional coordinators, Priority 2 is group designation) for the Near East region (which includes Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, etc) "considered under a reduced evidentiary standard for establishing a well-founded fear of persecution."

The State Department also works with NGOs such as the Church World Service (check their site).

In short, what you appear to be claiming is that Christians are being denied access based on their religion. I'll remind you of what you said:

"The U.S. State Department is currently not allowing Christians persecuted by ISIS into the country"

The opposite appears to be true. Being a Christian in any of these countries actually qualifies a person for relaxed admission standards. The State Department is also working in partnership with Christian NGOs. Do you have statistics on the breakdown of admissions by religion? If not, then you don't have a leg to stand on at all.

Let's be honest here.

What you're actually complaining about is that Christians aren't being given additional preferential treatment, beyond the preferential treatment that is being given to ALL of the persecuted religious groups and that Christians aren't specifically being excluded from admission ceilings so that Glenn Beck can airlift the people he deems worthy into the country.

I find the whole thing rather disgusting, particularly the hypocrisy of right-wingers who rail against allowing refugees into the country under any circumstance other than when those people are persecuted Christians in the ME.

Perhaps if wingnut nativist xenophobes would back down from their anti-refugee, anti-immigrant positions, we could increase these ceilings and let in a larger group which would include more Christians?

97% of Syrian refugees admitted to US in 2015 are Muslims. By the way there are 40-some Christians in that number and 1 Yazidi (and a few other religions, or no religion). Posted by Ann Corcoran on September 3, 2015

Yes, at the same rate.
They kill anyone that doesn't agree with their radical religion.

And yes more then them are being saved but that isn't what this thread is about.

Should some people be allowed to skip the up to two year process the other refugees are going through to do what we can to screen those coming in?

US Welcomes Iraqi Christian Refugees, with Jail Time
www.cbn.com...

SAN DIEGO – Some Iraqi Christians fleeing the Islamic State sought safety and freedom in America. But instead of being welcomed in as religious refugees, they were arrested and sent to a San Diego prison.

The news comes despite the fact that 300,000 immigrants from Muslim countries were welcomed into the United States last year.

"It's clear our border is open to everyone except Christians," Mark Arabo, spokesman for the Minority Humanity Foundation, observed.
