I am logged in, but cannot flag or star posts. What gives?

I cannot seem to flag or star posts even though I am logged in. What is going on? Ok apparently I was in the PC forum trying to star and flag. I did not know it does not work there. False alarm.

Middle Eastern Issues is not letting me flag and star posts there either.

If it's closed for staff review you can't star...check the bottom of the thread - see if that's it.

This happen to me a while back after messing around with the popup filters, the manage add on and the tracking protections, I had to go one by one until I hit the spot. (the right ones)

I don't have it either. Not really something to lose sleep over, stars and flags are about as useful as tits on a bull.
